I had the same email from ASDA yesterday as well although I don't use them much. I checked this morning and there are quite a few available slots in my area towards the end of next week. It's also giving me free delivery!
I also tried Ocado last night which supposedly had flagged me up as vulnerable but obviously haven't as it was saying that I wasn't on their priority register and wouldn't allow me access to their site.
So the award for supermarket of the year currently goes to Sainsbury's as far I'm concerned!!
I decided to stay up till midnight last night to try and book a slot with Tesco or Sainsbury's. I noticed about elevenish that available slots for the end of next week had appeared at Sainsbury's which hadn't been there earlier in the morning - there were still some available slots to book this...
Not sure what to suggest @Trish But given that here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-on-social-distancing-and-for-vulnerable-people/guidance-on-social-distancing-for-everyone-in-the-uk-and-protecting-older-people-and-vulnerable-adults it suggests people with chronic...
I had an email from Gov.uk yesterday which says the same. I signed up before the questions changed and the list of conditions was worded more ambiguously. I ticked Yes to having one of the conditions on the basis that I have asthma albeit mildly and get every bug that's going and No to having...
I had this marketing email from Sainsbury's this morning. They do seem to be the most proactive for vulnerable customers and if they are increasing capacity maybe thing will improve.
I'm not feeling quite so jubilant this morning Previously I wasn't allowed access to delivery slots at Sainsbury's - a message would appear saying I had not been identified as vulnerable. I logged on this morning and I am now being allowed access - but there aren't any slots actually available...
The only other possibility @Wonko is that it's a result of the letter that I sent to my local store rather than my email to Mike Coupe which has then been passed up to head office. I put both my phone number and email in the letter. I wasn't expecting that to reach the store until today though...
I didn't supply a phone number in my email either @Wonko - they must have got it from my account. I never answer the phone normally but thought that I'd better just in case.
WOW I just had a phone call from someone at Sainsbury's Executive Office. They are going to flag me up as vulnerable in their system!!! He's also sent me an email and said to contact him if I have any further problems. So my email to Mike Coupe worked!!
I think I'm going to be moving my custom...
Yes @Trish that's what I thought as well. What's more annoying is that I had a marketing email form Tesco early in the week which says this:
So new able-bodied customers who have never shopped online at Tesco before are welcomed with open arms but their longstanding vulnerable disabled...
I've also written to my local Tesco store and Sainsbury's store with a copy of my PIP award and the letter from the AFME website asking to be flagged up as vulnerable in their system.
I've signed up to the Govt list but have heard nothing.
There are no slots at all with any of the...
I sent the following email to Dave Lewis CEO of Tesco
I received the following reply back
So basically a complete waste of precious energy. I've sent a similar one to Mike Coupe at Sainsbury's but I'm not hopeful.
I'm in the process of writing to my local Sainsbury's and Tesco in an attempt to get flagged up as vulnerable. I was thinking of sending a copy of my PIP award. Also a copy of the letter on the AFME website...
I've had a further email from my MP Clive Betts.
I'm not sure how to insert text and I've not got the brain power at the moment to work it out - perhaps someone could tell me? Anyway here's what he's said:
'Thank you for your further email.
I have looked at the Government scheme and you are...
The council helpline is a dedicated line for coronavirus updates which can be accessed via the main council number, 0114 2734567 according to my MP @ProudActivist He's also referred me to the council's website which does link to a voluntary service map of Covid19 action groups in the area. My...
I emailed my MP along a similar line as @Trish. I've had a reply back with the number for a council helpline. So not much use.
I emailed him again to say that it is a national problem not just in Sheffield with a link to the BBC news item on it. I also said in my email that the Govt Vulnerable...
I tried emailing the Tesco email address last week and got a reply saying that they no longer monitor that address. I tried online@tesco.co.uk which is the one that appears on their receipt and had a reply back saying that they are currently not responding to emails. I have seriously thought of...
