Loss of smell and taste can easily lead to malnutrition, which by itself can be serious but it can also worsen other symptoms, such as inability to stand/walk.
For omega-3's which is what is commonly given all the credit for health benefits of oily fish, the usual "cut-off" for when a benefit is seen is between 1-3 grams depending on the study and whatever illness that has been looked at. It would be hard to find that level of detail from an FFQ...
