Anomalies in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline for (CFS & ME), 2023, White et al

I believe that sending out a press release given to them to their media contacts is their regular level of support, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had (they were interested in doing so for the launch of DecodeME). I was more referring to the lack of a 'roundup' or 'rapid reaction' which they...

Anomalies in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline for (CFS & ME), 2023, White et al

Maybe, but I would have thought that if they wanted to support the awareness of this opinion piece then they could have found a couple of people to speak in favour of it. Or perhaps there was no attempt made to get them interested in it, whatever the case it's unlikely that we will ever know for...

Anomalies in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline for (CFS & ME), 2023, White et al

NICE guideline is robust and globally supported "On 11th July, a new study was published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry purporting to demonstrate flaws in the NICE ME/CFS guideline review process. The World ME Alliance strongly rebuts these suggestions. Our 24 member...

Anomalies in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline for (CFS & ME), 2023, White et al

Blog from Brian Hughes. The cries for help are getting louder. And that’s a good sign "The JNNP article is little more than a self-serving letter to a friendly editor, infused with special pleading and groupthink. It has no standing other than as a work of academic contrarianship. It is a cry...

Anomalies in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline for (CFS & ME), 2023, White et al

Many of them are keen on labelling ME/CFS as a functional condition, and many are keen on using CBT and physiotherapy as 'treatments' for functional conditions, so to have NICE show that the evidence base for CBT and GET for ME/CFS is severely lacking undermines their position.

United Kingdom: News from BACME - British Association of Clinicians in ME/CFS

How does their membership criteria prevent them from potentially coproducing anything? That makes no sense to me, I'm not a member of the University of Edinburgh but I am part of the team that is coproducing DecodeME - you don't need to be in the same organisation to coproduce something.
