The first message in this thread claims "We learn nothing about nutrition, claim medical students". I've read many times that when nutrition is taught in medical schools it is very basic and pretty much worthless.
I have no idea how old you are, @brf , however, aging does cause our veins to be more prominent, especially with gravity as someone else mentioned. As we get older our subcutaneous fat thins out causing our veins to be much more noticeable.
I don't agree with this at all. I think that nutrition should be taught at medical school and there should be refresher courses every so many years. I believe that a lot of health conditions today are the result of eating poor diets and lack of physical activity. You can't fix that with the...
It sounds like you could have been dehydrated. That would certainly cause your veins to be less prominent. And it could also explain why you were feeling drained. Make sure you drink some water throughout the day as it is more hydrating than coffee; caffeine is dehydrating.

There is no such thing as privacy where the internet is concerned - even in 'member's only' sections. Unless you are using your real life name, I'm not sure what everyone is so worried about.
But as someone else mentioned earlier, AfME board members could just as easily sign up as Joe Smith or Jane Doe and we'd be none the wiser. If they want to read what is being posted here, there is no way to stop them. At least they are being transparent about joining this group.
I don't understand your POV. Isn't it better that AfME belong to a group that is following the research so that they can be educated and have the latest up-to-date information? Isn't it better that they understand ME patient's frustrations with the current medical system in the UK in regard to...
I thought it was very odd also. He was an older doctor and must have been very close to retiring, so maybe this wasn't something he was taught in medical school.
How was your sinus culture done? When I asked about getting a culture done, my ENT told me it would have to be done under anesthesia in the operating room. I never get the impression that this is how other ENTs do their cultures.
