Seeing inside the body with cryo-electron microscopy

Came across this. I wonder if it may be of use in researching ME. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-49359137

The Medical Model in Mental Health (2019) Huda

I know a few of us follow Samei Huda on Twitter. He's a nice guy and has been quite supportive re ME. https://global.oup.com/academic/product/the-medical-model-in-mental-health-9780198807254?cc=qa&lang=en&# There is apparently mention of 'CFS'. Has anyone read the book? Would anyone be able...

    More PACE trial data released

I'm not sure how that could be worded, but it's worth thinking about.

Recall: I am cancelling the link for 48 hours while someone tries to verify.

    More PACE trial data released

I have now received a new data file. I requested that the data be aligned with previously released data. QMUL say that they are providing me with the information as requested. I cannot verify that to be the case. I believe, however, that these data are aligned with the individual results in the...

    ME Association magazine summer 2019

Welcome to the forum, Neil, and thank you for coming along to discuss your article. I have to say I think it is deeply irresponsible of the Chairman of the MEA, especially in the MEA magazine, to say that there are some ME patients who are in bed because they choose to be and that some ME...

The Psychosomatic Approach to Primary Chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis. (1965) Ehrlich

A book review from 1965. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/article-abstract/572067 Male doctor about woman patient. We tried all possible remedies. There is no ongoing pathology. Referred to me by other specialists. Other doctors see them as 'problem patients'. Mustn't be...

Predictors of Response to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (2019) Greenberg et al

Study here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0005789419300012?via%3Dihub It seems to me to be saying that there are greater self-report responses in those who expect CBT to work. If you tell people the treatment is effective, they'll say it is, no matter how severe the...

REC advice on PACE trial data changed in favour of release

As a condition of publication by PLOS ONE, the researchers agreed to release data on request: The PLOS ONE policy governing the sharing of data that applies to articles submitted before March 3, 2014, requires that authors agree to make freely available any materials and data described in their...

BMJ Archives of Diseases in Childhood: ''Editor’s note on correction to Crawley et al. (2018)'', 2019, Nick Brown. (SMILE LP Trial)

People more qualified than I am looked closely at the data and found nothing much really. The data it seems were properly collected and reported. It seems the flaws are in the trial design and conduct rather than the data.

REC advice on PACE trial data changed in favour of release

I would put sharing data 19:1. The data is gradually coming out and they must see that so better that than suffer the indignity of a retraction.

REC advice on PACE trial data changed in favour of release

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I won't really reply to individual posts but I have read them all. Yes, I agree it is, especially as we have been pressing them on this for some time. I first responded over two years ago...

REC advice on PACE trial data changed in favour of release

Thanks. Yes, I relied heavily on Matthees. It's asburd for the ICO and FTT to be saying one thing and the REC another. Note also 'majority finding'. The researchers have tried to make heavy play of that, but it's meaningless. Once a court/tribunal has decided, it's decided.

REC advice on PACE trial data changed in favour of release

I pursued this after the failure of PLOSONE to make the researchers hand over the data in compliance with the journal policy. The researchers relied on the REC. See Expression of Concern and Response here: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0177037 I asked the...
