Seriously craving nuts to eat - why?

Unless your complete DNA has been sequenced and compared to the average squirrel you can't be 100% sure of this. :emoji_chipmunk:

Esther Crawley talk at TEDxBristol, Thurs 2nd Bristol - "Disrupting Your View Of ME"

I'd like to see the police reports and who was charged with harassment. Thats probably harassment just asking for evidence to back up statements made by a so called scientist. Before you know it alternative facts won't cut the mustard then science is really screwed because people will question...

A general thread on the PACE trial!

i challenge you to a duel, which for ME/CFS people probably means we both sit on opposing couches and think about purchasing foils someday in the distant future

A general thread on the PACE trial!

I posted that, it was added to the OP so i deleted :woot: Perhaps i should have left it for posterity  I do this sometimes too, i call it ME/CFS brain (as an allegory to pregnancy brain which is a thing)

Tymes Trust - No reported harassment of staff at Bristol University

Agreed, talk is cheap, if someone makes an outrageous claim its up to them to supply the proof.

    Melatonin

No harm, the prolonged release probably won't make much difference but the dose is no big deal. AFAIK even high doses are not known to produce harmful effects, you should be able to take 50mg a day or more without doing any harm, but i wouldn't take the possibly unknown risk of doing so for no...

    Melatonin

Not off the top of my head, years ago before my non 24 was diagnosed i was dealing with neurologists left, right and center and reading many papers on the subject but i didn't bookmark them for future reference. If you can spend some time on google scholar you may be able to find references and...

    Melatonin

I don't know of any mechanism that can account for this, though there may be an unresearched mechanism of higher doses. But if you were given a 1mg and 5mg blinded i wonder if you would be able to tell them apart.

    Melatonin

If your deficient in melatonin (which we might be due to Acetyl CoA reduction) then it can help, but beyond that the claims are very likely exaggerated. Also its not like most drugs/supplements, beyond 1ish mg there is no additional effect because once the receptors are saturated extra is...

    Osteoporosis (bone loss)

This has been known for some time, in fact they seem to cause jaw fractures... i remember reading they were approved because no better option was available, not because they work great. They basically prevent bone resoption which should help because bone formation is impaired as people get older...

    Melatonin

It regulates the body clock and has some sleep inducing properties, beyond that it won't do much else. Side effects when starting it are not uncommon and usually settle down but it does not improve the sleep quality of ME/CFS, just the two things i mentioned.

Co-creating recovery in CFS/ME: A reflexive exploration of a Rebuilding your Life programme

Have not read the reference or the rest of this thread but this is the quote of the day (if not month or year)! :grinning:

What biomedical research progress in the past 18 months?

Fluge/Mella's pyruvate dehydrogenase paper was published less then a year ago, IMO a very important piece of the puzzle if verified Dr Davis has made some incremental steps that are not released yet, Janet talked about some of it at the other place

    Osteoporosis (bone loss)

Is there a mechanism provided, does it activate osteocalcin?

Pharma industry newsletter on ME/CFS drugs ('Pink Sheet') - Ampligen, Rituxan and KPAX-002

I see. I don't know much about Ampligen so perhaps i should not comment on it, but in the end the FDA is a behemoth...

Very interesting, but if one does not do facebook are there other options?

Nov. 28: GivingTuesday: $2 million match from Facebook & Gates Foundation

This is very confusing to me, whats the bottom line, make donations on the 28th on facebook, get Gates match?

Pharma industry newsletter on ME/CFS drugs ('Pink Sheet') - Ampligen, Rituxan and KPAX-002

So they want to use Ritalin with a bunch of nutrients, try it on ME/CFS, Parkinsons and Alzheimers (casting a wide net), patent it ("KPAX002 possesses strong IP protection through 2032") then sell it. So a "drug" made with commonly available ingredients but hike the price  Anything to...
