Long before i was diagnosed and i was "mild" i wondered like hell why exercise made me not sleep any better and seemed to be worse (sleep was worse, ME/CFS was getting worse but slowly at the time). Never got an answer of course... :emoji_face_palm:
I know this episode (and all the others) well. I like the writer having ME, thats very clever
Also "Night Terrors" is a good one where they have no REM sleep and start losing their minds is a good one.
That reminds me, the headaches from the first few hours after waking up i used to get are reduced by methylfolate and B12, according to a few studies this reduces homocysteine levels in the CSF. No proof this causes the headaches but it either is or is a coincidence or a parallel/comorbid mechanism.
Its not interesting, its to be expected, he is willing to lie, throw anyone under the bus, do anything he has to to defend himself. From doublethink, contradictory statements, admissions he promptly "forgets" and so on to get through a particular situation then change his story to get through...
This is probably by design, if you can get a population that responds to a therapy into a trial with people who don't then you raise the responder curve. "Science" by intentional, hidden in plain sight fraud :emoji_face_palm:
I have this issue as well, though i cannot get by on 8 hours, i will crash and sleep 12-16 hours in a few days to a week so i have never been able to figure out if 8 hours will keep my body clock stable or not.

I don't know, it does often take money to make money but i have no idea what a Canadian TV commercial costs.

Perhaps my idea will inspire...
