Clare Gerada: influence on UK medical practice and ME/CFS management

With regard to the BBC article, there are some great comments, if you put them in order of highest rated first.

Clare Gerada: influence on UK medical practice and ME/CFS management

The lack of accountability among BPS-cult members is contributing to keeping M.E. sufferers ill. I blame Peppa Pig: http://www.bmj.com/content/359/bmj.j5397 And while the BBC News website has studiously ignored M.E. for years, their Health Reporter Ian Westbrook is on the case of Dr Brown...

Efficacy of acupoint catgut embedding combined with ginger-partitioned moxibustion on CFS of spleen-kidney yang deficiency syndrome.., 2017, Xia et al

I was recently wondering whether to inject 1 cm long catgut segments into myself whilst burning some dried mugwort onto my body, so this is very useful. Thanks very much.

Esther Crawley talk at TEDxBristol, Thurs 2nd Bristol - "Disrupting Your View Of ME"

TED is awash with quacks and bullshit, and has been for years. http://www.quackometer.net/blog/2010/12/ted-quacks.html

Tuller / Trial By Error: The Crawley Chronicles, Resumed

Practise is a verb. Practice is a noun. I would advise that you take my advice on this.

Tuller / Trial By Error: The Crawley Chronicles, Resumed

I have two teenage sons who come home from school every day, go upstairs, lie down and fall asleep. Absolutely nothing to do with ME. My 15 year old only started doing this a couple of weeks ago. Now he's just like his big brother, who does it most days. Teenagers innit?

Selling Bad Therapy to Trauma Victims

A rag-bag of well-dodgy arguments. Psychotherapy isn't physics. It isn't even science. This guy thinks the observations of psychotherapists should be equated with the work of Einstein and Hawking? In his dreams. I'm afraid Freud didn't quite make the grade...

BBC to help students identify 'fake news'

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-42242630 This would appear to be a serious article and not a Science Media Centre press release.

That's wierd because I'm sure I read an interview of his where he implied that he could have done many great things with his fine mind but he very kindly decided to dedicate himself to psychiatry for the good of humanity, even though it was way beneath him. I suppose it depends who he's talking...

Preaching by parable and anecdote. There was a typo in the title by the way - it should have been "Commentary: the hubris of psychiatry"

Forward Me Group Minutes - 31st October 2017

It's easy to assume this means that a new category will be created just for us somewhere between somatic and psychiatric, but it's just as easy to interpret it as meaning that our new category will be on the other side of psychiatric and that our situation could get a whole lot worse. Is Mark...

Article: Discovering community: A young woman with migraine finds support online

The article ends with: I tried clicking on the link but 4 different browsers wouldn't open it because it's unsafe. I wanted to see if the Migraine Impact Assessment tool recommended any specific products, seeing as I noticed this at the top of the article: Which I think means "this is an...

Daily Mirror article: "My body shut down" - Woman reveals her heartbreaking battle with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

What a shame. It was going so well until The article was really good until that point. Then it all got a bit deliciously Ella cranial sacral usual pseudo junk for me. And now it's a bloody advert. I was wondering why a non-celebrity was writing about ME in the Mirror, now all is clear...

Article: Not everyone with a disability wants a cure – nor should we expect them to

I read the headline and clicked on the link expecting to read some wierd stuff I could have a good rant about (which I was looking forward to actually). However the article makes complete sense to me and I agree with it. Very good. Now I'll have to find something else to rant about.
