Thank you @Hilda Bastian for your article, you highlighted many relevant issues. Hopefully the Cochrane IAG will correct them so that the new review is not biased towards positive views on GET, which it currently is.
If possible at all, some input from @PhysiosforME and Workwell seems quite...
BMSystems were interviewed in Global Benefits Vision about the risk of post-COVID19 ME/CFS. They provide more information about their upcoming clinical trial and their scientific understanding of the disease,
About ME/CFS itself
Their description of ME/CFS (p. 32) does not include PEM, but the...
@Kalliope, you're a saint for keeping your cool and for summing up this article for us.
Eventually it all boils down to Dagbladet being a tabloid, and as such, it sells sensationalism to its readers. Their staff knows it, their readers like it. And what's a better way to stir up emotions than...
I resent the mail from another mail address because I'm not sure the first one went through (spam filter?). Here's Andrea Polli's response.
My response:
3+ years of work wasted on a wrong assumption.
When a diagnostic biomarker is found, should all the PhD and Masters thesis on GET/CBT and ME be voided and the degrees of their authors stripped?
News on the Kynurenine trial from OMF: https://www.omf.ngo/2020/05/26/omf-announces-new-treatment-trial/
The trial will be randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover. No healthy control group (not necessary).
An explanation from Robert Phair on why brain fog is the chosen endpoint
Ah. Maybe our bodies want revenge on us for the normal and (hopefully for the most of us) happy, healthy, active lives that we had before coming down with ME!
Thanks for these notes @Kalliope. Their wild psychosocial claims on completely unrelated biomedical factors is just... a striking denial...
They're trying to prove that immune dysregulations in ME are not clinically relevant. I cannot understand why they would want to identify things that don't matter? Is their goal to disprove that ME is organic, but is instead psychological/somatic?
???
An update on current research posted on Whitney's Facebook page:
- Rahim Esfandyarpour has recruited new grad students to work on the nanoneedle, this "will speed things up considerably"
- Ron Davis is "working on a way to prevent the allergic reaction [from copaxone, the MS drug] but still...

3 studies were included in their screening, the results are too different to be interpreted.
The article correctly assesses that:
A sensible recommendation given the above?
The UK GWAS study intends to screen prospective participants directly (no referral) using CureME's questionnaire...
The odd thing is that many pharmacological treatments are available for psychological conditions -- they even are the most prescribed drugs in the world --, yet none exist for the organic disease that is ME.
A sweep through the paper in the tweets below.
In short there is critical thinking about the methodological issues but they’re all jammed together at the end, so in the rest of the paper (including all the analysis) they’re either downplayed or not taken into account. So the paper’s own...
What about a sequence of 10 *randomly generated*, basic calculations, where each calculation depends on the result of one or two previous calculations? It wouldn't even have to include divisions, just {+, -, x}. Definitely breaks predictability!
For example:
1. a = 2*30 + 50 - 45
2. b = 60 - 15...

I don't understand what's going on in Norway. The page you linked to is basically the website of a guru:
And yet not only is this guru officially backed by the Norwegian government and health authorities, but he also receives funding for "scientific studies" on his guru woo-woo?
I could...

- Nanoneedle: the assay shows a signal for 50 ME/CFS patients but none of the healthy controls. Rahim Esfandyapour contacted 2 labs, one in the US and the other in China, for developing a prototype of the nanoneedle...
Millions Missing France are posting a lot on social media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We've launched a YouTube channel with videos from both severe and mild/moderate people with ME.
For example, a video showing before/with ME with a song written by one of our members:

I suppose that if this paper was shown to an oncologist, or any doctor who cares about their patients with cancer really, they would brush it off as nonsense based on their clinical experience. At least I hope so!
