Work is good for health: a thread to post and discuss the evidence for this statement

Not to say it doesn't exist but I am having difficulty finding anything much about work being good for health in Canada. I found one example of joining a choir at work being good and an article on why an employees financial well-being matters. I expect the thinking exists. there are many ways...

Anyone Treating the Eight Herpes Viruses with Antivirals?

Was unaware of this but at any rate I went looking for something that was maybe a write-up in layman english that discussed this and couldn't find anything. In the interim (past several minutes) I have found the thread on Viruses and Ron Davis/Bob Naviaux's remarks: Here

BMJ Editor's Choice: "The miracle cure"

For me the problem really is that she is not wrong -- at least in general terms. Many of us were very physically active before illness and enjoyed it. The real problem is understanding that there is a horrible exception to that general rule. She and so many others seem to not be able to take...

Anyone Treating the Eight Herpes Viruses with Antivirals?

There are recent studies as well that indicate PwME have a more robust immune response rather than a weaker immune system. I believe this is the reason for some of the typical flu-like symptoms that PwME experience -- swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, mild fever, aching muscles -- when...

Thank you for that @NelliePledge and @Forbin I thought this had to be the case. So they used the name of an already existing award.

Is the prize awarded to PF the same prize? That the prize was inspired by Alexander Solzhenitzyn -- oh the irony.

I am one who very much appreciates the thread on privacy. Thank you. Would you mind providing just a brief statement expanding on the issue of privacy and ecosystem collapse?

You might want to state that this is a thread for UK evidence if that is the purpose.

Mind the Hype: A Critical Evaluation and Prescriptive Agenda for Research on Mindfulness and Meditation, (October 10, 2017) Van Dam, et al.

I hope the full text really is a useful read. I have no problem with mindfulness as a personal tool to be more present in one's own experience. But I can also precis the current uses of mindfulness: 'There is money to be made here'.

I particularly appreciate the section acknowledging that finding yourself in the presence of someone who listens and who presents as compassionate is not the same as someone who is without an agenda or bias as to why you are ill or what to do about it. The BPS position has developed skill...

A 4-day mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural intervention program for CFS/ME. An open study, with one-year follow-up, 2018, Stubhaug et al

Old thread but I was perusing it and looking at the paper. For reasons not clear to me seems there is currently some interest in viewing. See Here Yes they are very clueless. And they remain so despite regular contact with this illness group. It's clear that what they lack is any firm...

Article : The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

I didn't pick up on that point. I'm not completely certain but I don't think we need permits here in Canada (or at least in Toronto) to demonstrate. The age of internet and it's consequences is a big subject and I have no ability to consider it's implications. Valid concerns. Maybe there...

Article : The Corruption of Evidence Based Medicine — Killing for Profit

No argument from me on that. I did notice that he is speaking in parliament but I tend to keep my posts rather brief as I can't manage long posts. I think the points he made are well taken and I did suggest that this needs to be widely disseminated. People need to care. I am one of the...
