Eating improves exertion induced fatigue and symptoms of orthostatic intolerance

Eating making me feel better is not some new discovery. About digestion, I think when you start eating, maybe your brain realizes that, and your cells start using the reserves your body has from before, so no need for the food to be digested and you feel better almost immediately.

PEM for those who are, or were, mild sufferers, how would you describe it?

Not sure how to describe it but I was a mild sufferer in 2007 (I was even running cycling and so on) , with some very bad worsening in 2009, and it was only in 2016 when I first experienced PEM. Now I'm mostly bedbound / housebound.

    Use of stimulants for ME/CFS

I was prescribed 50 mg of modafinil but I take this as a joke. I need to take at least 10 pills (1000 mg) to get me active. And it does work, however I don't know what the long term consequences will be. Addiction, withdrawal, crashing and so on. Besides, it will cost me cheaper to get...

Neurasthenia: Modern Malady or Historical Relic?, 2019, Overholser et al

Yes, she mentioned there are people who recovered from CFS and I tried to argue but as you know I'm not a doctor and my opinion doesn't matter.

Neurasthenia: Modern Malady or Historical Relic?, 2019, Overholser et al

I finished my transcranial magnetic stimulaion, which, together with medicines improved considerably my depression but didn't have any effect on my fatigue. I said that to my doctor, and she said, well, there may exist many causes for chronic fatigue syndrome ... to which I exclaimed "Wow...

    Tilt table test

I'm visiting psychiatrists for the N-th time. But this time it's a good one. She agreed with me that my fatigue is probably due to some undiagnosed physical condition. I asked her about the tilt table test but she had no idea what that is. (that is, not because she's a bad doctor, but she...

    Stroke

@Arnie Pye modafinil is exactly what I was prescribed. Unfortunately though, it doesn't seem to help so far.

    Stroke

Yeah, I forgot to mention that the doctor who appointed me to make a CT was a psychiatrist. She was the only doc who agreed with me that my fatigue is probably some undiagnosed physical disorder rather than psychological. Which, as you know is very unlikely with most psychiatrists. The other...

    Stroke

Since my onset 12 years ago, it's the first time that a doctor proposed to make a CT of my head, which I did , and guess what the results are: I have had a stroke at some point in the past without realizing it, but it cannot be determined at which point exactly I've had it. It's fair to say I've...

    Electroconvulsive Therapy

Wondering if electroconvulsive therapy will cause me PEM, or will the general anesthesia save me? Has anyone tried?

    Induced coma

Extending the topic a little, I've lately been adopting lots of libertarian ideas, and so I and think, since it's your own life, it must be your decision what you do with, even if you act stupid and die. As long as you can afford to pay of course.

    Induced coma

Yeah, I'm totally ready to take all the other risks, but since insurance doesn't cover this, I'm afraid I can't afford to pay for it.

    Induced coma

This just came to my mind. Has somebody tried this, for and year, for example. I was thinking it can reset your brain or something. I suspect there's no science behind this but who knows. Moreover, is there a hospital that would agree to do it by patient's desire or should it be doctor's decision?

Noise cancelling headphones! Oh Joy! (and other ways to block sound)

Not sure what type of ear plugs you've used. Foam ones don't work, silicone are too hard, so I only use wax. And yet there are wax plugs that are too hard (and remain hard even at high temperatures). I don't like them. Ototap is my favorite brand - half of the plug is made of moderately hard wax...

    Sci-hub blocked in Sweden

Another solution is to use Tor browser. If by any chance it assigns you an ip from a coutry where sci-hub is blocked, just restart it a few times until it works.

    Cholesterol anyone ?

My LDL was borderline when I was consuming foods with trans fats. It went down normal when I stopped, but then I started eating chocolate and it went up again. Now I've stopped the chocolate and I'll see how it goes on the next test ...
