#MEAction is running their letter out to all those who publish it. Just keeping Adriane apprised of which outlets has been a challenge.
[Edit: I should say that, through my exhaustion, it's really amazing to have people picking up the baton so all I have to do right now is 'carry messages'...
I wish people would stop with that. Childhood trauma leads to increases in all cause mortality. You are more likely to be sick in general.
Funny re: how the studies on childhood trauma typically focus on chronic diseases that affect mostly women.
Yeah.
Hey, guys, I think I need to step away from this for now, for my own well-being. Contributed to "the fight" nonstop for a few days. It's absolutely draining.
Someone online wanted to educate me that there is more than one organism in the fungal Kingdom last night. I taught science at...
It's possible to test for T3 but there are some issues -- here's an article I found on that from NIH. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5113291/
Commenting on the article itself is cool -- sharing it on social media less so, IMO. This article is bait. And our rage and suffering is literal money in the bank for Reuters.
Anyway I definitely agree with sharing articles that have good scientific information. I'm also definitely not...
Wen Zhong said actually that there were fewer viruses in pwME. It wasn't a huge difference, but it was the case. Unfortunately after a long day like today I'm not sure whether or not you have DNA & RNA the right way around, sorry.
Whoa, they DEFINITELY don't. Kelland has been writing for them for ages and always for some ethically shady group intent on smearing critics of their unethical practices or poor science. It's her MO and they've hosted her work for years.
Moreover, Reuters usually has a chuckle when anyone...
That's... a really awful description. I had no idea people were trying to say everyone with FM had to be depressed, anxious, or angry. It certainly seems to me that these are natural reactions to a) being in constant pain and b) being constantly dismissed/belittled for it.
Back again to this...
I have very complicated feelings on this subject. We're all suffering and sometimes you have to let it out. I do wish people wouldn't let it out in the direction of knee-jerk anger or conspiracy theorizing, especially in the direction of Sharpe et al. -- their baseless theories basically run...
Exactly. I fell for it too, for a second.
Even if you think CDC is about to sprout horns, Unger wouldn't release a video explicitly stating that ME is not a psychosomatic disorder one week and release a statement like that the next.
I'll lay bets on Kelland prompting Unger in some very...
Too bad re: the source. It looks like good reporting, honestly, having read the whole thing -- but it would be better coming from something not called "GM Watch".
Knowing this was coming, I've actually done a lot of research on this and will hopefully produce that more general article I mentioned, soon.
It's very common. "Tone policing" is the official name for saying that someone can protest but must do it nicely, or what they have to say ought to be...
The science is really, really poorly done, but it's like people desperately WANT to believe in it. We've spoken before about how deeply people wish to believe their health is in their own hands, but this goes to a deeper and weirder place, IMO. And the more we push, the more the True Believers...
Just finished editing the shared doc for #MEAction's response.
Just... add a line. Delete it. Add a line... delete it.
How do you "let people know" that it's unethical to paint an entire disabled population as a group of violent maniacs? How do you explain that to someone who doesn't know...
