The micro-clot finding in Long Covid — implications for the possible aetiology of ME/CFS

Does anyone else just eat natto anyway? I've been eating some usually once a week or so for quite some years. I'm sure that's not the dosage in whatever these supplements are, but... why don't they study effects of natto eating for comparison? Sign me up! I love natto but these supplements and...

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to Optimize Post-Operative Fracture Recovery (COPE): Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial, 2022, Busse et al

"Insurance medicine" LOL. I am going to think of that whenever I see "CBT" now, along with a range of other key terms.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to Optimize Post-Operative Fracture Recovery (COPE): Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial, 2022, Busse et al

Honestly are there meetings where they come up with this stuff? "If we can get access to the post-surgical patients, we can get anything!"

Patient perspectives of recovery from [ME/CFS]: An interpretive description study, 2023, Hasan, Busse et al

They are only looking for people who have ever experienced any improvement? There is a gift card at stake!

NHS Scotland Glandular Fever advice pages

I had ME/CFS originally diagnosed following glandular fever. I can't remember how long I had been ill for but it was over 6 months and less than a year. It seemed to be common knowledge that you can develop ME afterwards. This was like 20 years ago. What has happened?

Activity monitoring and patient-reported outcome measures in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome patients, 2022, Rekeland et al

I also think the severe ME page is a good development but it's just quite hard (imo) to navigate to. Is it just me? Maybe it would be possible for them to give it more prominence and make it more obvious it's there?

In the era of long COVID, can we seek new techniques for better rehabilitation?, 2022, He and Yang

People benefiting from "pulmonary rehabilitation" after covid must have had very different chest problems than I did. The phrase makes me shudder. This would have made me so much worse and I had to stop seeing the specialist, who kept pushing forms of exercise despite that. I realized that...

San Francisco Chronicle (opinion): Biden says the COVID pandemic is over. He could have fooled me

In some ways I wonder if Biden saying the pandemic was over was a good thing? (Am I finally losing it?) I have seen more pushback against this and coverage of the fact that it is not over than I have in a long time. Many people seem to see that it is manifestly not over, and it got more focus on...

Closed UK: DecodeME updates, was recruitment thread.

Update: I have completed the questionnaire and been selected to take part, which is a strange feeling. I was in the middle of worrying I hadn't described my case accurately enough. So I wanted to write about that. I found it harder to do the questionnaire than I thought as I really had to...

USA: 2022 Sep 19: Long COVID, ME/CFS Patients Protest in Front of White House

Does anyone have access to the full text in the BMJ? Did they actually mention and contextualize ME/CFS?

Thank-you! Phew! I started to worry I had missed it after all the waiting! Glad it's progressing.

Sorry if this has been asked; I have not been feeling up to completing the questionnaire - when is the deadline? Did I miss it? Thanks in advance.

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

Is there any hope of a vaccine that will prevent infection (a good amount) someday?

Science - Understanding myalgic encephalomyelitis, Sonya Marshall-Gradisnik & Natalie Eaton-Fitch

I wish instead of stuff like this we had articles about e.g. trying to understand the mechanisms behind post-exertional malaise, which is actually what is needed. This just seems wishywashy and contributes to a "medical mystery" narrative of ME/CFS as a cluster of non-specific symptoms and...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

So, is it not the case that there's a chance these intranasal vaccines will be more effective in preventing infection? (For some other reason?) I thought I saw a claim that there was some demonstrated superiority (needing more evidence)?
