    Aripiprazole - Abilify

Im not on the FBK group but if it’s anything like the Reddit CFS group of which I’ve read I believe all the posts regarding Abilify, it’s really hard to tell from the user base who most likely has ME/CFS and who might be self diagnosing or has comorbid psychiatric diagnoses that they either are...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

In fact, at the very low dosages pwME are taking there’s significant experimental evidence that Abilify not only stabilizes dopamine but boosts dopamine signaling, which would make the risk of TD even lower, because it’s really working as a semi dopamine agonist in the completely opposite way it...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

Did those family members take the ultra low dosage Abilify and get TD from that? Did they have ME and were taking low dose Abilify to treat it? Or did they have schizophrenia/psychosis/major depressive disorder and take significantly higher dosages for it? (typically 5x - 15x the dosage) Your...

Yes, exactly, and by A LOT.

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

I knew that trying to be as detailed as possible would probably get confusing. It’s really hard sometimes to describe clearly how this illness changes or feels. Imagine this, on Abilify my skin changes haven’t improved anywhere towards normal, my hair changes haven’t, my subcutaneous tissue and...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

One aspect of my ME that Abilify appears to have little effect on is my suspected mast cell activation problems in my gut and lower abdominal skin at night. I’ve had this ME-related symptom making everything else worse and causing me anguish since 8-10 months into the illness. I don’t know why...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

The biggest difference by far I can remember, and this is a huge difference - is with the ketogenic diet after the first couple weeks, where I felt OMG I'm in remission, if I physically or mentally exerted to the same level I can now do on Abilify I would crash. Keto would make the crashes...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

For those who are new to this thread and reading about Abilify for ME thinking, "could ME be a neuropsychiatric disorder?", the answer is no. It's as much a neuropsychiatric order as I would say lupus, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's and dementia are, diseases that are physiological but...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

This paper has useful pharmacological and kinetic information: RP5063, an atypical antipsychotic drug with a unique pharmacologic profile, improves declarative memory and psychosis in mouse models of schizophrenia

Brilaroxazine (RP5063) is also being trialed by Reviva for PAH because of its effects on serotonin receptors.

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

Here’s the paper on the phase 2 clinical trial results for brilaroxazine. Abilify is also an arm in the trial (powered for sensitivity not efficacy). If not clear from my previous post, I think low dose brilaroxazine could be a drug worth trialing as a potential treatment for ME. The following...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

I’ve been pretty excited and vocal on PR about it, just to say it here too that I’m looking forward to trialing low dose brilaroxazine (RP5063 aka oxaripiprazole) for ME as a replacement for Abilify when it gets approved if there’s nothing better than low dose Abilify by 2025. It has an even...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

This usually makes good sense, but we have no idea how many different MEs or truly different ME-like diseases there are (like you said about your ME and Whitney’s) so wrt to ME I feel all bets are off when it comes to making extrapolations like this, at this point you just don’t know what could...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

The key thing here that I want to stress is it’s important to not mix bad doctors and studies with the treatment itself. They are independent in this case and one shouldn’t pollute one’s evaluation of the other. The study wasn’t great but that has nothing to do with Abilify.

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

Moved from this thread Abilify is a very commonly prescribed add-on to antidepressants and antipsychotic drug, so I’m not quite understanding how one would be “on your own” wrt side effects any more than any of the antidepressant or similar drug. Any psychiatrist and likely many GPs will know...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

Moved from this thread From my experience Abilify does really truely work for me (and seems to for many others), it’s not placebo effect it’s just been too significant an improvement that’s maintained for a long time and it occurred pretty quickly after starting it. I have a feeling that this...

    Aripiprazole - Abilify

I’m still having the same benefits since the plateauing about a month in. (To explain to those who haven’t read the posts, the benefits continued to increase on the same dosage of 0.5 mg until about a month or more into it then it plateaued and sustained) I haven’t increased dosage and still on...

Preprint The true nature of an autoimmune disease, Leisk and Nocon 2021

Exactly, how do we even know if much of Long COVID is actually caused by herpesviruses and only triggered by the COVID infection (since herpesvirus infections are fairly ubiquitous by adulthood). Is anyone looking into that?
