Petition: Save Karen Gordon from Dying of Malnutrition and Dehydration due to NHS Failings

I wonder if the following few posts with info taken from the Handbook of the NHS Constitution could be of any help to Karen and her family? If someone has contact with them then maybe, if you think this info could be of help, you could send it on to them. The NHS Constitution lists various...

UK Government ME/CFS Delivery Plan consultation

I'm sorry, I can see how you interpreted what I wrote as me being prejudiced against overweight people but I'm not and wasn't meaning to convey that. I was merely ( but obviously not successfully) trying to say what many people will take away from that photo as society is programmed to look...

UK Government ME/CFS Delivery Plan consultation

Absolutely appalling implying that PWME are overweight and unattractive looking people ! Yet the photos of doctors and researchers in the same document are of thin, good looking, intelligent looking people who you could trust!

"The Why: The Historic ME/CFS Call To Arms": new book by Hillary J Johnson

Very well said Mithriel. My memory is that Strauss and co actually stated at the time that they went with the name CFS specifically because they didn't want to give the illness any validity as a physical disease, so it was a name to actively trivialise and done on purpose.

2022 Brian Hughes on the NICE Guideline and what it means for care of people with ME/CFS

Perhaps these psychologists can give each other CBT to help them cope with this anxiety and also to help them to face up to the harm they've done to patients. As professionals they should have been keeping abreast of the science and questioning the validity of the psychogenic theory and they...

    UK NICE 2021 ME/CFS Guideline, published 29th October - post-publication discussion

Me too Mithriel, this statement is UTTERLY, UTTERLY beyond appalling and doesn't bode well for anything changing. Really depressing.......and after decades of this abuse I'm not easily depressed.

Evidence based care for people with chronic fatigue syndrome and myalgic encephalomyelitis, 2021, Sharpe, Chalder & White

This completely! Over the years people new to ME often take time to realise this, that this has been done knowingly, wilfully and with seemingly no regard for patients.
