Absolutely appalling implying that PWME are overweight and unattractive looking people ! Yet the photos of doctors and researchers in the same document are of thin, good looking, intelligent looking people who you could trust!

My memory is that Strauss and co actually stated at the time that they went with the name CFS specifically because they didn't want to give the illness any validity as a physical disease, so it was a name to actively trivialise and done on purpose.
Perhaps these psychologists can give each other CBT to help them cope with this anxiety and also to help them to face up to the harm they've done to patients. As professionals they should have been keeping abreast of the science and questioning the validity of the psychogenic theory and they...

Really depressing.......and after decades of this abuse I'm not easily depressed.
This completely! Over the years people new to ME often take time to realise this, that this has been done knowingly, wilfully and with seemingly no regard for patients.
