I got my booster 6 days ago.
The "vaccine arm" lasted 3 days, more headache and lots of fatigue/weakness (on top of the usual one) still going.
No other flu like symptoms this time.
So I'd say my reaction is a lot less compared to the first one but more compared the second one.
Unfortunately...
Thanks!
I was planning to do those home swabs in my family for the Holidays but often hear they are very unreliable in the vaccinated and/or asymptomatic.
Would the most reliable thing then be to test each person every day?
Our experts are saying the same thing, Corona might become like the flu where vulnerable people are recommended to get a jab every year to be protected from the current circulting mutation.
I'm wondering more about if this was foreseeable during the initial studies. I'm a complete layman and...
A more general question: When vaccines were developed and tested in studies, did they know back then we will need boosters/third jabs?
The first time I remember this came up in the media was this summer with data from Israel.
Before that my impression was 2 jabs and you're done.
Got my 3rd...
Why would anyone need to get vaccinated again to "get their vaccine status" back after reporting a positive test?
Depending on location you're fully vaccinated after one jab (J&J), two jabs (AZ, Moderna, Pfizer) or three jabs (if boosters are mandatory).
Having said that I do agree being...
Could you dumb that down for me? I understand a third jab gives people my age group higher neutralization titers. But does that equal less symptoms in case of breakthrough infections? Less likelihood of LongCovid?
@Jonathan Edwards indeed does not sound good. Do you think further boosters will...
Merged thread
Hope this is the right place to ask..
We're being recommended to get a Covid Booster shot 6 months after the 2nd jab.
Do you guys have any data or opinions on how this help reduce risk of infection or disease (symptoms) in young people?
I know antibodies drop but from what I...
A diagnosis from the Charité can help to be taken a little more serious by other doctors or when you're applying for disability. It's the place with the highest profile in Germany for ME but not of much help otherwise.
I wish ME docs here would explain the importance of pacing from the first...
I didn't know I had Orthostatic intolerance for years since I didn't know such thing existed. In the very beginning I said it feels like gravity had increased by 100 fold. The floor was sucking me in. In my head I was just "sick and weak" and only got a medical explanation years later with a...
I got the same impression, might be more similar to post Mono. I know a couple of people that took a year to recover from that without developing ME.
That's why we need good studies on LC so desperately.
If LC will be mostly self limiting drawing a premature connection to ME might harm us more...
I'm insured at TK. Not sure though how much of what they put out publicly will have any effect on their decision making, e.g. when it comes to granting therapies.
The first gatekeeper in all of this are our GPs and they in general aren't very open to reading anything a patient is handing over...
I was hoping for more than 50% reduction. So the risk of LC still is pretty high in the vaccinated :(
Edit: Oh but it's 50% of those 0.2% that reported breakthrough infection, right?
Yes! I have more and more hip and shoulder pain from being in bed, so I do need to get up and move to alleviate that for a little. To find myself more in bed due to PEM afterwards.
It's like a mobile (that thing over a baby's crib) - you move one part a little and all the rest that's connected...
It's a good interview! It gives me hope that recovery after long time illness is still possible, most other stories I know were pwME that recovered within 2yrs.
What I find hard to impossible to cope with when it comes to pacing is my mental health. I "trade" pyhsical for mental well being at...
Joe Rogan was tested positive and was fairly symptomatic. Got a bunch of meds (prednison, Ivermectin, monoclonal antibodies).
This didn't age well with previous statements of his (when you're young and healthy it's going to be mild) and he's very previleged to have access to these meds. Wish...
"The relationship of having been infected with a deadly virus and later developing a series of bodily symptoms" is exactly what a BPS approach is made of, isn't it?
Fear fueled by scary media reports and too much focus on physical symptoms could have made people go crazy after all.
I dont know if it's OK to name names, but aside from e.g. Dr Chirazi Stark, have you heard of Dr Leussink in Meerbusch (neurologist)?
How does this work - do ME doctors have to apply there or is the iqwig approaching them?
