UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

Ok. So this system is far worse sounding. I got zero total twice and ended up getting granted basic rate in both by a vase worker before the tribunal so no idea how many points that actually ended up being.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

Well, watching the parliament discuss the benefits over hauling didn't make me feel any better. I still feel scared that when my PIP gets reviewed they won't understand all over again.... Plus now I a worried maybe that will involve a face to face interview as well so they can miss judge on...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

When I did mine I had been following guidance from a lady on YouTube who has cfs and was still failing until I got a call from the case manager right before tribunal. I've had a few months where making a meal meant getting up and getting an apple to eat with the nuts I had beside my bed...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

Moved posts Government talking about disability benefits I'm finding all this talk about cutting benefits for disabilities and getting people into work stressful. I feel like I am one of those people they might cut off. I got PIP after many months of fighting for it because their rigid...

'Tired all the time': what general practitioners request and find in patients with tiredness/fatigue - an audit... 2025 Murphy et al

As a hypothyroid patient, despite need, a full thyroid panel has NEVER been done by my GP. I do them myself using a private company. I feel like even when they run some tests (and I have had loads) not much comes of it.

'Tired all the time': what general practitioners request and find in patients with tiredness/fatigue - an audit... 2025 Murphy et al

I was thinking the answer is more often "nothing" as the GP accused you of anxiety instead.

    T3 treatment for hypothyroidism

A little update. I saw a private endocrinologist this passed Monday. It was money very well spentt. I didn't even need to get to the point of bringing up my topics and questions. The endocrinologist combed through my test results and a year's of test history and saw the issue. As I have...

How to read while lying completely flat?

There are gadgets like this for holding tablets. Some clip on head boards, some tuck under a mattress and others are floor standing. https://amzn.eu/d/dlyFaYD

    Cortisol levels in ME/CFS

I read one thread talking about cortisol in me/cfs. Not sure I grasped what it was saying. I am understanding that cortisol levels are not just from types of insufficiencies or whatnot but from your routine as well? I finally went and saw a private endocrinologist for my Hashimoto's which was...

    Sore throats swollen glands

Ok, read those and a post made me now wonder something else. My sore throat doesn't seem to match what others are describing. But, now I am wondering.... I get swollen lymph nodes in my armpits. It's happened for long enough periods that I have been fully investigated and everything ruled out...

    Sore throats swollen glands

Merged thread Could someone please explain what is meant when it is said a sore throat is a symptom of cfs/me? I have gotten to wonder if I have this or it's some other thing. Nearing bedtime, my throat starts to get sore around my tonsils. Feels like the very early stages of a mild sore...

    Managing “Outrage”

I don't know. I feel like my world has become much smaller so some things I encounter feel so much bigger than they used to be. On top of that my dysautonomia is very reactive to any rise in stress/emotions/nervousness. Before those would be a flicker and mean nothing, now my body reacts...

PEM: A thread for sharing your experience of post-exertional malaise

What is your current severity? My mind wants to say mild but I think I fit better as moderate. I am doing very well pacing so it makes what I do do feel less punishing. (still awaiting official diagnosis. Symptoms for nearing 2 years) What triggers PEM? Physical activities: walking...

Has anyone else here struggled with a persistent verruca?

I've had one for two years now. I seem to be able to maintain it as much smaller but not cure it. Two years ago I was treating it and I was a couple treatments away from being rid of it but ran out of the treatment and can't find that one anywhere. I am convinced that one would cure it if I...

I used to use one of these at work (not waitressing) and they are really useful. Not good for going out or a wheelchair but may be useful to some around the house. Waitress aprons https://amzn.eu/d/g2WIa6s

    T3 treatment for hypothyroidism

I have heard there are instances where being post viral can affect thyroid hormones. I don't know too much about it but heard recently some mention it happened to a family member after having covid.
