Metabolic features and regulation of the healing cycle—A new model for chronic disease pathogenesis and treatment, Robert K Naviaux, 2018

@James Morris-Lent, you might try telling that to Jamison Hill and Whitney Dafoe. Also not sure where you're getting the info that one of 'the distinguishing features is that nothing is actually damaged'. Could you provide a link for that rather odd claim? Thanks in advance.

    Hydrocortisone

There is a reason why they're usually only prescribed for only a short period. I haven't searched here, but on 'the other forum', I remember there were plenty of horror stories if one fell for 'The Safe Uses of Hydrocortisone' approach...

    Netflix "Afflicted" - ME included

Eric Gordon is an M.D., not a 'practising homeopath'. He may use homeopathic remedies from time to time, but I highly doubt that's his first mode of treatment. In fact, the main point he made about Jamison's case was that may be a result of the horrific car crash he was in, and suggested they...

    Netflix "Afflicted" - ME included

If I remember correctly @Esther12, I think you said you hadn't even watched the documentary? If so, then you didn't see Gordon's caring manner and assessment of Jamison. Just because Gordon may offer some things that may seem or even be as you say, 'dodgy', doesn't mean he's using any of those...

    Netflix "Afflicted" - ME included

I'd say exactly the opposite. It shows he was part of groundbreaking research that may just change the way we address the problem(s) we face with ME/CFS.

    Netflix "Afflicted" - ME included

I hope that someone with a Reddit account will take the time to reply to this idiot. All they need to do is post a link to an article about Whitney Dafoe, and ask him if he thinks Whitney's faking it for secondary gains.

    Netflix "Afflicted" - ME included

I agree 1,000 percent. It's none of our business, especially considering he's doing remarkably better than he was in his fundraising video.

The role of the Thymus gland in ME?

Just to answer your first question: Since it's essential for proper immune function, my guess would be 'of course'. :)

    Netflix "Afflicted" - ME included

It's also worth noting that he seems surprised and 'crushed' that many have had a negative reaction to the documentary.

'Shaking and trembling with ME/CFS' - Chronically Hopeful

I've never personally heard of that as a 'hallmark' symptom. From what you're describing, it doesn't sound like the same thing that as you suggested above, also happens with Parkinson's. IMO, that's more of a 'freezing' thing, where the patient seems 'stuck', and has difficulty initiating...

Interview with Howard Bloom Where He Talks Extensively About Severe ME Viewed Over 500000 Times in 1st Day

Bloom's been around for ages. I guess the reason he may have been noticed now is due to the Rogan interview. Here's a series of interviews he did 5-6 years ago: http://www.healtheo360.com/stories/chapter-10-cyndi-lauper-and-cfs/ He's credible in some ways and not in others. Definitely a...

[POLL] Is ME primarily an environmental illness?

I agree. It's not a 'yes' or 'no' question. If the poll had a fourth choice, "Do environmental factors play a role in some cases?", I would answer yes.

Trial of CT38 for ME/CFS by Cortene Inc.: big claims being made...

I haven't read anything about this drug or the trial, but FWIW, it's my understanding that many can start out with high cortisol, which eventually can lead to low levels. And/or some have high levels at times of the day when they should be lower (like at night), and low at the other times, when...

Forward ME Group minutes from meeting 7th February 2018

"Dr Weir said that the “D” IN SEID stood for “disorder” – an unspecific term..." Not that I like the name, but the 'D' stands for 'Disease'.

    Any experiences with chronic sinusitis?

Same here, sinusitis -- off and on, but mostly on -- for about 20 years. I did find this intriguing study/overview the other day that suggests that antibiotics, even if they might help acutely in some situations, may, in the long run be just making things worse. And of course it could be...

Are there probiotics that PWME should avoid?

As mentioned earlier in this thread, I've heard that e. coli is, but lactobacillus is not, as it produces too much d-lactate. I'll try to locate references from Lassesen and post them in a day or two. And of course I'm not a scientist so I can't say if the studies he bases his hypothesis on are...

    Legs weakness

Of course. I just didn't see that anyone told her not to go to a doctor. :)
