Sickness behaviour – useful concept or psycho-humbug?

I have Mimi, who is a very vocal cat too @Wonko I do end up telling her to stfu most days because she drives me mad with her complaining. Her son, Albert Needles, is obsessed with finding used earplugs and running away with them growling. I've never known any of my cats to fake illness, I had...

Sickness behaviour – useful concept or psycho-humbug?

Hahaha, shocking behaviour from dogs! I'm a cat person @Wonko so I wouldn't know. Cats conceal illnesses a fair bit in my experience. I have a cat who had an abscess on her foot that made it swell to almost twice the size of the other 3. She walked on it without a limp.

Sickness behaviour – useful concept or psycho-humbug?

Could it have been possible that your dog actually had pain in the miserable low pressure weather @Skycloud? The two now healed broken bones I have hurt when the pressure drops.

Tuller/ Trial By Error: Hey Bristol, Where Is My Cease and Desist Letter?

You're right of course @Valentijn, people have been sent to the gallows for anagrams less heinous.

Tuller/ Trial By Error: Hey Bristol, Where Is My Cease and Desist Letter?

I think you're being a little over cautious on this one. As far as I'm aware anagrams have never been illegal.

Tuller/ Trial By Error: Hey Bristol, Where Is My Cease and Desist Letter?

I'd be amazed if this happens. Institutions don't send legal letters unrecorded, there would be a paper or electronic trail. I'm sure they've just taken her at her word in the past, she's a very competent liar and does vulnerable damsel in distress very effectively. Now that there is...

Tuller/ Trial By Error: Hey Bristol, Where Is My Cease and Desist Letter?

I am so looking forward to how she tries to lie her way out of this one. This whole event was recorded, mwahahahaha.

Trial By Error: My Brief Encounter with Professor Crawley

It's a Cornish phrase that is less prompt than it sounds, it means when he get's round to it.

Trial By Error: My Brief Encounter with Professor Crawley

Yes, I expect he's bit busy right now but will be along directly :)

Trial By Error: My Brief Encounter with Professor Crawley

Yes @Estherbot he didn't make himself look too clever, did he? The 'wasn't he fired from Berkley?' comment was plain catty.

Trial By Error: My Brief Encounter with Professor Crawley

Does he provide CBT to PwME? Worried about losing an income stream?

    Esther Crawley

Have we collated Crawley quotes and interviews anywhere yet? It might be useful to do that in this thread. Her motivation in her own words rather than our armchair psychologising (which is fun, but ultimately pointless).

Esther Crawley - Uni of Exeter 17th Nov Mood Disorders seminar

From the snippets I'm hearing it sounds like she spouted nonsense, he asked some questions and she threatened to get him arrested. I wish I'd been well enough to have gone, it sounds like it was brilliant fun.

I really, really hope she didn't see him in the audience till he asked a question at the end.

What is the course of your ME/CFS?

The first 3 years were relapsing remitting. The subsequent 4.5years have been progressive with no time off for good behaviour!

Dare to hope... what amazingly great thing might happen in S4ME's first year?

Critical debate of smoking practices is allowed as long as no personal attacks are made ;)

Esther Crawley talk at TEDxBristol, Thurs 2nd Bristol - "Disrupting Your View Of ME"

@Lilpink is right - this pattern of bending the truth is very important. It undermines EC's credibility. IIRC she has lied in every recording we have of her since the SMILE launch interview on Radio4. She's lied about Tuller. She appears to be 'flexible' in how she approaches truth in her...
