    Pseudobulbar affect anyone?

Me too @Justy another thing we have in common! My physical emotional responses are way out of proportion to what I feel. I'm sorry I haven't PMed yet, I will on Friday - dentist tomorrow, broke a tooth on a stubborn almond :jimlad: I look like a pirate.

Article: Not everyone with a disability wants a cure – nor should we expect them to

When @Pickle was little she had glue ear, a deaf friend was very angry with me for getting her grommets. Her reasoning was that deafness is a peaceful state and imposing sound upon her was assault. I could understand where she was coming from as she'd been born partially deaf, but it didn't make...

Aluminium in brain tissue in autism (2017) Molda et al.

I moved to the area a few years after the water poisoning incident but there were still some odd things going on. The water ran brown on Sundays because they were flushing the pipes for example o_O It's an area of extreme deprivation, poverty, high unemployment, alcohol and substance abuse rates...

Aluminium in brain tissue in autism (2017) Molda et al.

Obviously completely anecdotal, but in the Camelford area we do seem to have higher rates of autism than other areas. The water poisoning incident was about 25 years ago.

Trial By Error: The Crawley Chronicles, Continued

Because no-one wants to carry big chairs over from the juniors, the teacher doesn't want you sitting there longer than your allotted time and they have to sit on them a fair bit too during the week. Because they spent all day, everyday telling children what to do the bossy tone becomes a habit...

Trial By Error: The Crawley Chronicles, Continued

He might as well ask for the moon on a stick, gold plated and engraved with the Hippocratic oath. Crawley is so wedded to her victim narrative that she apparently believes all criticism of her is unfounded. It will take a higher authority than David to open her eyes. I've known a few social...

Trial By Error: The Crawley Chronicles, Continued

Absolutely. It's a real shame David repeatedly writes he isn't going to sue her in his blogs. It's a shame he didn't keep his powder dry.

Trial By Error: My Brief Encounter with Professor Crawley

You're right @ladycatlover that's how it's pronounced. It confused me no end when I first moved here. The locals also say 'Where's he to?' instead of 'Where's he from?' which confused me for quite a while.

Tips for ME blog: Attacked by Hope

Hope is cruel, I think Jenny is incredibly brave to allow herself to hope. I've grown so tired of the pain of disappointment that I'm terrified of hope. I work hard to make the most of every day, to make this a life worth living, because this might be it for me. I know if a treatment comes...

Sickness behaviour – useful concept or psycho-humbug?

You put it better than me @Keela Too :) I lost a friend when I relapsed after brief phase of partial remission, she'd been with me during results from MRIs that concluded I had numerous lesions but not enough for MS. Therefore relapse had to be my fault somehow. Until the relapse she'd been a...

Sickness behaviour – useful concept or psycho-humbug?

@Skycloud In my experience ligament damage takes longer to resolve than bone damage, but I haven't noticed any pattern linking the ligament pain with the weather - the ligament ankle pain is more frequent than the ankle bone pain, but rarely do they hurt at the same time. It's not bad pain, just...

Sickness behaviour – useful concept or psycho-humbug?

My cats have me pretty well trained too @Wonko, toxoplasmosis would have got me at a very young age. Isn't there a theory that toxoplasmosis infection makes the human host gentler and therefore more receptive to serve the cat's whims? This has got me thinking about illness and pack behaviour...
