News about Long Covid including its relationship to ME/CFS 2020 to 2021

Got a different name innit. So it must be different, stands to reason :banghead::banghead:

The sooner they invent a robot to do that the better.

Only read one 'article' but the colour scheme, layout, etc. used makes it unlikely I will read more. The site is hard work, with what I have read so far being so shallow as to not make it worth it. Might be worthwhile for carers or family to read, to gain a slight appreciation of some of the...

UK: Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) medical evidence

But GPs, at least mine, are 'resistant' to this information - they don't want to know and if it's given to them it would appear to be binned. I recently, finally, got my 'complete' medical records from my GP surgery. Not one word about any impact that any symptoms have had/are having on me...

    Fingernail defects?

Recessed nails, at times, had them for many years but it's dim in here and can't really be bothered to check properly if still there. Thumbs mostly, although I seem to remember the odd finger has had them occasionally. Ridges across nails, common, but not constant (haven't noticed them for a...

UK - Resources for help getting food during quarantine and other supermarket related problems

Last week it's 'chickens may have to be culled as people aren't buying enough eggs'. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-55585989 This week ASDA are restricting people to one pack of eggs per order. Which is it? Too many eggs, save a chickens life, buy some eggs now, or; Not...

    Sleep trackers

I can't help but wonder how many studies have been done to lead to that conclusion, or if it's just some bods theory.

UK - Resources for help getting food during quarantine and other supermarket related problems

I can't help but marvel at the rapid increase in food parcel distribution technology that has been achieved in the last 6 months. 6 months ago it was deemed impossible to deliver cheese, sliced meat, or salad items, in a food parcel. Simply couldn't be done. Perfectly acceptable to deliver...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

All good points. I live on my own with no surviving friends in the area, with no support, and what remains of my family is hundreds of miles away. So I don't have to worry about people coming in and out. My decision was easier, both the risk is unwarranted in my situation and given how little...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

Impossible to know as they are playing with the numbers. For example; Seem to remember that when the pfizer one was first touted that it was supposed to be around 54% after the first shot, rising to 70-90% after the second - these would be figures from the manufacturer. There was some stuff...

Resources for help getting food during quarantine and safe handling of food

For newspapers use the letters to santa system. Using gloves address it to Santa Santas village South Pole. Place in a roaring fire The santa mail system will of course return it, as it's wrongly addressed, but due to having been incinerated and reassembled so Santa can read it, it will now...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

I'm in the UK and in 2 groups. Group 6 (clinically extremely vulnerable) and group 4 (over 50 with underlying health issues - clinically vulnerable). The 'word' is that as a group 6 CEV person they will attempt to give me the the first shot of vaccine before the 15th of February. I do not...

The evidence base for physiotherapy in myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome when considering PEM: a systematic review (2020) Wormgoor

Did they in fact make any 'mistakes' tho? It all seems pretty deliberate and premeditated to me. They designed it, ran it, and when the results did not agree with what they wanted they used several different 'methods' to make them look 'good'. and then they refused to release any data which...

UK - Resources for help getting food during quarantine and other supermarket related problems

IMO 'Shielding' has nothing to do with the risk of catching covid, or even personal risk of serious illness or death to an individual. IMO 'Shielding' is solely about people who if they do catch covid-19 would be much more likely to have serious medical issues, and in doing so use up NHS...

Presumably they print paid advertisements, and don't mind if these are presented as 'research'.

Just because 'poor quality' sleep is associated with 'issues', as anyone who's not sleeping problems will feel it, does not mean that ritualising sleep will help. I am at a loss to determine what they expect people who don't sleep, who the imposition of yet another thing to try and get right...

    Symptoms of Covid-19

Don't we already have a working design for wheels? I am under the impression that all of this has been proposed, by several people/groups, as explanations for some symptoms of ME - but that such explanations have been rejected by 'medicine' as fanciful, unevidenced, rubbish - or 'polite' terms...

It's not just that, it's that each specialist may be able to contribute from their area, or not, but if they each have an incorrect bias, like that the problem can be helped with exercise, then that gets reinforced. So in a team of 6 specialists you may get one or 2 things that may be helpful...
