Mail Online: Why many of those struck by Long Covid may be suffering from glandular fever: Blood tests on some patients are coming back positive for ‘

I can't speak for anyone else but I would not do this. Not without permission from your GP anyway. IMO it could easily be seen as theft, misrepresentation, medical fraud, etc.

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

I have seen reports of people catching covid after being vaccinated. Given the precision of such things, it seems possible that at least some of these cases were infected during the vaccination 'process' i.e. the trip to, the visit, and the trip back to home. Pretty sure I saw reports of a...

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

I'm sorry but I cannot agree with this statement. I also cannot disagree with it. Because I do not know what causes 'activity driven fatigue', in either long covid or pwME. Let alone if what cause it for 'most' people with long covid is the same as in pwME (also a very poorly defined set).

Once-Weekly Semaglutide in Adults with Overweight or Obesity, 2021, Wilding et al

I have the answer; It's because food exists. I start the day nauseous. I don't eat, only drink. After a few to several hours I eat, from that point on I get hungrier and hungrier, and by night time I am ravenous. It doesn't matter how much control I exert - and I exert quite a bit or I'd be...

I don't either. It took me many years to notice there was any pattern to PEM, and even then all I knew was that if I worked too hard I got ill, and non functional. I certainly didn't keep spreadsheets, or notes, or anything. It was just a thing that I eventually noticed happened. ...and a...

Possibly, in order to make sure this is a valid, fair and accurate comparison...........

Only one word of that description comes out my mind. It is what the often small hard seed casing of many trees are called. It is possible that my cognitively impaired PEM'd brain may have missed a word or 76 thousand, but that's the only one that seems to exist in my head. But if it was that...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

So, if they admit to not having the info then the statement that pwME are not known to be more at risk, and therefore a priority, would seem to be 'misleading'. Given that they know they don;t have this information it might even IMO be classed as active 'disinformation'.

A Molecular network approach reveals shared cellular and molecular signatures between CFS and other fatiguing illnesses, 2021, Comella et al

To use your analogy; what we have, over the last 30 years or so, is enough stales in the ground to lay out a reasonable sized town, but we still have no buildings, not even a single brick has been laid, all we have is 'stakes in the ground' - most of them so covered in vegetation/piles of crud...

They weren't tho were they. They weren't 'selected' and put on TV for any other reason than because of who they were. Because of their 'medical' positions. Mr J Giles of 56 Shorts Bridge Road, Clandidno wasn't put on - despite any symptoms or experience he might have had, were he not...

Of course the reported main side effects, nausea and diarrhea, don't affect appetite or weight at all.

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

It seems that when a patient (me) doesn't respond to a GP email within a week, current practice is to send round 2 large instances of plod, and a tiny amount/package of GP. So I had plod here, who TBF did disappear fairly rapidly once they determined I wasn't rotting above a certain threshold...

Havana Syndrome: U.S. and Canadian diplomats targeted with possible weapon causing brain injury and neurological symptoms

To a person who only has a hammer everything looks like a nail - or whatever the saying is. I was under the impression that one of the aims of primary school education was to teach people that even if they only have a hammer that other tools may in fact exist. But apparently Sir Prof SW (the...

NICE ME/CFS draft guideline - publication dates and delays 2020

Presumably that information is classified, at the highest level. If it wasn't then someone would know who to call to ask them why, and that would rather be against the charter of an organisation that was created as a 'hands off' erm...thingy....so that the government could disown all...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

Presumably they are given to 'people' tho, and measurements can be taken as to how many of those people get ill or die - which as far as I know are the only things needed to work out how effective a vaccine is. Only real variable is the vaccine. If they start making it so that people have to...

    Organ donation and blood donation

Given the symptomatic similarities, and that people with ME aren't allowed to donate blood, is it entirely ethical, or sensible, to inject people with blood products derived from people with long covid? Just because a few treatments have historically been made this way, as attempts at a quick...

    The dangers of sitting?

No, it appears to be health gospel - not to be questioned. To the extent that, as far as I know, all activity trackers (like garmins, fitbits etc) come with a move alert that goes off at intervals to 'remind' people that they haven't moved in x minutes - that then has to be turned off, as...

    Anyone recommend an ultralightweight hoover?

All I remembered from this thread was that stick type hoovers, the the motor at/near the top were reported to be easier to use and effectively lighter as the weight was closer. So I bought a Shark HZ500UK. This is a corded hoover, as the cordless version seemed to be around double the price...

"I did this by listening to people that have recovered from CFS/ME, not people that are still unwell". "We need to listen to communities of people who have recovered from illness, says Paul Garner" Do such communities exist, for long covid or for ME? 3 states; 'recovered', I would have...
