Is PEM a crash? Is a crash PEM? Semantically distinct? Or distinct phenomena?

A crash is where being able to drag myself/crawl a few meters along the hall to the bathroom, only passing out a time or 2, for a little involuntary rest, takes forever. At the more extreme end anyway. That's on the physical side of it anyway somewhere I haven't been for several years...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

Why would you think that? Have you got the results of a test that shows that any of the vaccine shots I was given 'took'? Coz I haven't, coz the NHS hasn't given me any such tests. The way I see it, my chances of getting seriously ill and needing hospital treatment, are either 100%, or 0% -...

Protocol Pacing, Conventional Physical Activity and Active Video Games to Increase Physical Activity for Adults with ME/CFS: Protocol for a Pilot, 2017, Ferrah

Some, like me, can't handle the cognitive load of things like candy crush, let alone angry birds, or more complex things. Like at all, a few minutes and it's pointless crash time. So I cannot see how this could be a useful therapy.

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

As someone given 2 doses of AZ I have to say 'yippee' to all the poor efficacy, and to the follow-up 10 months (so far) gap in jabs for a vaccine with 3 months of effectiveness. Just as well that I rarely go out, and don't interact with people when I do.

First test for long Covid gets EU approval, August 2022 - IncellDx incellKINE Long COVID test

Really? This is a 'fact' is it? I have other 'objections' to this paragraphs assertion but.....maybe I have the sniffles.

JK Rowling new book — chronic illness references

Under rules for efficient policing all detective novels are one page long, as any member of the police that wastes time with the rest of the 'novel' when the culprit is detailed at the end would be liable for disciplinary action.

Yes..well......it looks like what's needed here is a round object, possibly fitted to an axle. Maybe some should invent it.

Assessment of the Feasibility of Using Noninvasive Wearable Biometric Monitoring Sensors to Detect Influenza and the Common Cold, 2021, Grzesiak et al

So only 8% of people will be stuffed when they file for sick pay if this thing says 'not sick', when they are? That's nice. Coz if there is one thing I've noticed about humans it's that if there is a device to make decisions for them, they 'tend' to follow it blindly. Much like todays...

Exercise hormone irisin prevents physical inactivity-induced cognitive decline in mice, 2022, Park et al

So, evolution has decided that inactive mice, possibly inactive due to lack of food, should get stupider, and therefor decrease their chances of survival in a low food environment?

Long Covid in the media and social media 2022

Well...most children recover (and stop being children with PVFS) within 21 years, most adolescents recover (and stop being adolescents with PVFS) even more rapidly. Of course some of them may well end up being adults with PVFS but, of being children or adolescents with PVFS, they are totally...

Long Covid in the media and social media 2022

The first sentence of this tripe (IMO); erm....no, it wasn't, and it never has been, still isn't. There seems little point in reading further as it's obvious where the authors stand, somewhere slightly to the right of reality.

United Kingdom: News from BACME - British Association of Clinicians in ME/CFS

So, as no one has a 'good' understanding of the biological aspects of ME/CFS, that means that according to BACME that there is no one qualified to deliver CBT to pwME so there should be absolutely no CBT? [Humourless laugh emoji seems to be absent]

GP chief warns WFH (working from home) could have a profound impact on Britain's mental health: Clare Gerada

So, in the time before offices, most of human history, everyone was nuts? This couldn't be a not so subtle attempt to get the wheels back on the gravy train that 'the establishment' prefers as keeping people in little boxes, despite the environmental impact of forcing people to commute, makes...

AI Could Help Patients With Chronic Pain Avoid Opioids

Possibly people find an app which can't help, but provides platitudes, more 'friendly' than a person, who could help, but chooses not to, possibly in a very unfriendly manner e.g. blames the patient for still being in pain despite being told not to be when they've deliberately, and maliciously...
