    B12/Folic Acid and D3/K2 Supplementation

I do not appear to suffer from a B12 deficiency, at least taking more does not improve things, and I would appear to have too much iron (inferred from my ferritin level). It is something I considered a 'while' back.

UK: The NHS needs to ramp up treatment volumes if waiting lists are to start falling any time soon. 2022, IFS

But they've known about the fact that the UK was tending to a situation where one paperboy would need to pay enough tax for support 4 million pensioners for donkeys, it was old news when I was at school over 40 years ago - and it appears that no one has done anything about it, apart from make it...

UK: The NHS needs to ramp up treatment volumes if waiting lists are to start falling any time soon. 2022, IFS

Easy to ramp up NHS treatment volumes - use the 'take 2 aspirin and if it's not better in a month then come back for 2 more' approach, that has always been traditionally skitted. Of course, for an increasing number of things, they use the same approach, but don't even give any aspirin.

A triple drug combination targeting components of the nutrient-sensing network maximizes longevity Quan et al. 2019

So, we can, again, produce longer lived fruit flies. I'm not sure how that helps anyone, other than researchers into the lifespan of fruit flies. For people the obvious, and cheap, way of reducing the prevalence of age-related diseases is to reduce the prevalence of old age, possibly by...

Study finds first direct evidence of a link between low serotonin and depression

Which is it? A decreased serotonin response, in the brain, or a reduced capacity for releasing serotonin, in the brain, as as far as I know these are totally different things, but they seem to think they are the same. and what about other sources of serotonin such as the gut?

Norway: Article about ME seminar with security

Are we sure that giant, wheelchair accessible, lightly armoured, cats with lasers weren't involved? How else could a cup get knocked over/city be destroyed if they weren't.

Mitochondrial signal transduction, 2022, Picard and Shirihai

So what's their game? What are they really up to? What, in short, do mitochondria want out of life. coz it certainly sounds like they are in charge, that 'we' are just the meat cities in which they live, so having some idea of what they 'want' might be a good thing.

Editorial: What is Safe Long COVID Rehabilitation? 2022 DeMars et al

I thought we knew, definitively, how to cure LC. Scuba diving, cycling around large Victorian parks, and lots, and lots of interviews - totally cures it 100% of the time, for one person, without any rehabilitation at all.

Crowdfunding: Trial By Error [David Tuller]: Reporting on ME, ME/CFS, long Covid, and "Medically Unexplained Symptoms", Oct 2022

All anonymous, with hidden amounts - only spotted coz I check the page sometimes, and sometimes in between checks it was going up by a little over $5000 with only 2 anon donations made - seemed to be a pattern. But, something I can only spot at the time, due to the low activity, going back...

Crowdfunding: Trial By Error [David Tuller]: Reporting on ME, ME/CFS, long Covid, and "Medically Unexplained Symptoms", Oct 2022

I worked it out (bored) yesterday. Apparently the average donation at the time was approx $123 (skewed higher because of as far as I can tell 3 $5000 donations and one $4000 one). So in order to reach $64000 with an average donation of $123 then 521 donors would be needed - assuming that the...

Effect of herbal cake-separated moxibustion on behavioral stress reactions and blood lactic acid level and muscular AMPK/PGC-1α signaling.. 2022 Xu

Even worse, there is cake in the title, but no rat seems to have been given any cake - hardly surprising that they behave as if depressed.

UK: Millions of invitations go out this autumn for UK’s largest health research programme

Given the 'limited' access to GP's, and the decreasing number of them, I am puzzled as to how they could expect this to work, at all, in any way.

Michael Sharpe retires as Psychological Medicine Lead 30/09/2022

Looks like he's only retiring from one of his roles and that he will still be afforded the status to be.... what he has been as far as ME is concerned (forum rules preventing me from saying what that is, in my opinion.)

    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

Yes - covid shot, as per normal, for me, left arm (after a few hours small amount of pain/lump like feeling), flu shot right arm, nothing noticeable, although it may have contributed to the general rein of unconsciousness over the next day or so. Much more minor, in my case, than either of the...

    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

Unasked for update; After what I suspect is 3 days - no distinguishable side effects remaining from either my covid booster or flu shot. Which isn't to say I feel 'normal' for me, I am still 'weak', achey, with easily upset-able joints (particularly ankles, fingers, and neck, or so it seems...

BMJ: Activists demand more funds for ME research

Possibly it's just the association with events hosted by them - allowing various people on the other side to present their work? One of what looks like several events they organised according to google; https://www.bristol.ac.uk/research/impact/chronic-fatigue-syndrome/ Bolding mine. There...

BMJ: Activists demand more funds for ME research

As I said I'm just going off memory, I do have memory issues (diagnosed) so I could be wrong. But that was the conclusion I jumped to. I must admit that I was slightly confused as to why, you, who knows quite a bit more than I, were asking - which might add weight to the 'my being wrong'...

BMJ: Activists demand more funds for ME research

As far as I recall the Wellcome Trust traditionally does not fund biomedical research into ME, only the other sort - this may be why they have been specifically chosen as worthy of mention/lobbying. Of course, not being involved in advocacy, or ME charities, I may be wrong, but that's my...
