    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

I found out that I have high covid antibodies, so probably did have covid in September (arghh!!!). I've read so many different recommendations on how long to wait to get a covid vaccine after the onset of a covid infection. The most common recommendations I've seen are 2-3 months. The timing...

    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

In early September I had what seemed to be a mild cold, but it might have been mild because I used several supplements that almost always help me with viruses. I briefly had a cough, congestion, and increased fatigue. A couple of weeks later, I woke to a nosebleed, which I stopped by pinching...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

Well, hallelujah, finally! This is major news, but there's been very little mention of it so far in the American press.

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

In the U.S., updated versions of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have been approved, but not Novavax. I wonder if there's a legitimate reason the FDA has not done this yet, or if Novavax approval is being slow walked for some reason.

Covid flight cancellations are back as thousands grounded after virus hits Gatwick air-traffic controllers

Well, we can certainly expect more covid-related idiocy this fall. There seems to be a tacit agreement around the world that if controlling covid requires masks, vaccination, air filtration, and other proven measures, we'd rather just let it continue, illness, loss of life, and damage to economy...

IBS-like symptoms near -constant for about 3 months

@lunarainbows, here are some of the things my sister thinks are helping. She's eating low fiber and is pureeing most vegetables in the blender. For protein, she's sometimes eating chicken and fish. Daily she's drinking juiced pineapple and celery from a Vitamix and also drinking turmeric and...

Extreme tinnitus, can anything be done?

I developed tinnitus after a really bad case of bronchitis. There may be no connection, but that's when it started. Mine is mild and doesn't bother me too much. However, I use a white noise machine at night to help mask the tinnitus because I notice it more in absolute silence.

Millions of women in UK face severe period pain but symptoms dismissed, survey finds

Endometriosis can cause pain and heavy bleeding during periods. I would want that ruled out. I didn't know I had it until I had my tubes tied. The surgeon saw the lesions and burned them off during the procedure. It didn't bother me after that, but I don't know if that is always a permanent...

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

I see that in the U.S., the FDA just approved updated Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for the fall. However, the updated fall Novavax vaccine is still under review. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/11/health/covid-vaccine-boosters-fda-pfizer-moderna.html

Effects of Nature-Based Multisensory Stimulation on Pain Mechanisms in Women with Fibromyalgia… 2023, Gungormus, et al

Wow! I can't help but think of how differently men with erectile dysfunction are treated. They are prescribed a pill and told, here, take this, bye, rather than being endlessly psychoanalyzed, even if the cause of their condition is from a mental rather than a physical cause. Must be nice. I'm...

    Oxaloacetate

I used to take oxaloacetate from Sabre Sciences's Cereze, since discontinued. It seemed to help my cognition, but I stopped taking it because I realized it was contributing to insomnia.

Dopesick - The opioid crisis in the USA

I was offered hydrocodone over and over for pain when I started developing fibromyalgia. It and other opioids just made me feel terrible in the head and didn't help much with pain. Constipation was really difficult to deal with, too. I'm glad they didn't work because I knew people who had...

    Gentle(st) stretching routine

I found this video from doing a youtube search. It has stretching you can do lying down. Maybe you'd find some of the stretches helpful and not too exerting. The woman's a little annoying, but I do like how she keeps reminding you to relax your muscles as you stretch them so you'll get a better...

Alcohol intolerance and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, 2023, Maciuch, Jason

I don't drink at all anymore aside from a few sips of champagne on New Year's Eve. Even when I was younger, before I got fibromyalgia, I never metabolized it very well. The main reason I stopped drinking is that the next day I feel muddled, even with just 1/2 of a small glass of wine. Alcohol...

ELECTRIC HEADSET FOR TREATING DEPRESSION TRIALLED BY NHS – SKY NEWS

Interesting! At first I was wondering if it was the same as cranial electrical stimulation, but the technology is different. The Flow Neuroscience is tDCS, not CES. Here's an explanation of the difference: https://caputron.com/pages/tdcs-vs-ces

An Hour of Light and Sound a Day Might Keep Alzheimer’s at Bay

    Magnesium

Lactate is the best form of magnesium for me. The powder seems more potent than capsules. I use Premier Research's Magnesium Powder, which is lactate. I order it from Amazon.
