We have a big meeting coming up with our professional body in a couple of weeks so preparation for that is taking up all our time. We are keen to look at this and the course from the Workwell Foundation in more detail as soon as we can.
We've talked about this in our group and plan to make a formal comment about it. But first we need to thoroughly read through it, check out some of the references and we hope to make contact with the authors too. We will keep you updated as we go.
Our Speech and language therapy colleagues are the masters of all things vocal/swallowing. I am in awe of what they are able to achieve. Definitely worth getting it looked at earlier rather than later. Worth mentioning if you are speaking to your GP. Swallow/speech important in so many ways so...
thanks for the tag - really interesting to see the issue of vagal nerve stimulation being discussed. Between us we are looking at different areas of anatomy and physiology in depth to try and get a better understanding of what might be going on in people with ME and the implications for physio...
We've done some investigation and as @Trish higlighted above, the only published information we can find relates to the diagnostic study. And his book. We will try and make contact with him and see if we can find out any more.
We have however had some positive feedback from people saying it...
Thank you for tagging us - we have been in contact with Workwell as we have lots of questions as part of our quest to understand their exercise physiology work. This certainly looks very interesting
Thank you so much for tagging us in this thread - it is really interesting. We have been thinking along the same lines of a "limit/ceiling" as it certainly fits with our experience but we hadn't quite picked up on the idea of baseline and position that can be improved one which makes a lot of...
Thank you for this suggestion - I like the idea of looking to understand and reframe support. We are starting to think about how best to challenge some of the thinking in our profession - how to work with existing centres is something we are really conscious of and are trying to work through how...
thank you for tagging us @NelliePledge this is really interesting. I will share with the other physios in the group and we will add it to the list of things we are trying to work through - there is so much for us to do!
This is what we are hoping to achieve through @PhysiosforME -- we have a meeting lined up with our professional body to discuss how to address the situation. We will keep you posted but this is a really useful thread for us - thank you
Thank you for tagging us in this. We are really hoping we can start to make a difference in some of these cases. We have a meeting lined up with our professional body to discuss how best to approach this.
Sorry you didn't have a great experience of physio so far, that's what we hope to change. We're looking at education for both students and for qualified physios.

I love this - hearing that a fellow colleague is trying to find out more! Yes of course please do put him in touch. physiotherapyforme@gmail.com is our email address or @PhysiosforME on twitter My name is Michelle if you want to let him know you've heard from me
@JemPD we definitely have education on our list of things to do for both students and qualified physios - I like the idea of some information along the lines you mention so will share this with the others
Interestingly some of the replies we have had do involve positive experiences of physio...
