Reddit - Interesting posts on Reddit, including what some doctors say about ME/CFS

If you're in the UK you can request a full copy of your medical records. I'm pretty sure they're legally obliged to comply under GDPR.

Review Functional neurological disorder and functional somatic syndromes among sexual and gender minority people: A scoping review 2023 Lerario, Perez et al

Wait wait this is just homophobia and transphobia??? Why did someone decide "we need to find out whether these illnesses we don't believe in are more common in the gays"???

Anyone seen Dr Bansal, Dr Lulsegged or Paul Jenkins ?

If you DM me I will respond as soon as I can. But I've been rather ill recently so might be a while. (Nothing to worry about! I had a vomiting bug last week, which unfortunately caused me to be unable to keep my medications down for several days, and I went into withdrawal from the psych meds...

    Bath-ing after foot surgery

Honestly I think I would hate that I need to properly wash myself off in water! (Also my mum definitely wouldn’t do it, I CAN shower it’s just exhausting)

    Bath-ing after foot surgery

Ear plugs dampen the noise but the noise is still very tiring for me Shower chairs do not solve the problem either - they’re not supportive, it’s just as tiring to sit in one as it is to sit in the shower without a chair.

Disorder or difference? Autism researchers face off over field’s terminology, 2023, Rachel Zamzow

It’s not just a thing of “he was a bad person separately to his medical work”. He literally sent autistic children to be killed.

    Bath-ing after foot surgery

Right, so my toenail is ingrown again and it looks like I am going to have to have the surgery after all. Sad face. Here’s the kicker: I have to keep my foot dry for maybe 6 weeks after the surgery. There are things you can buy for protecting your foot in the shower so that it doesn’t get wet...

Disorder or difference? Autism researchers face off over field’s terminology, 2023, Rachel Zamzow

Oh this is the same “silencing” bullshit that BPS researchers say about ME patients. It’s very simple - non-autistic autism researchers are unhappy that their autistic colleagues and autistic advocates disagree with them. There was a horrid article published recently about the mean autistic...

Disorder or difference? Autism researchers face off over field’s terminology, 2023, Rachel Zamzow

I was originally diagnosed with Asperger’s, but personally I’m glad that terminology has been dropped - Mr Asperger was a Nazi.

    UK: Dr Sarah Myhill

Thing is, most doctors have a poor grasp of science. For your average doctor, their poor grasp of science means taking the people in charge at their word. In terms of things like "vaccines are safe and effective", that's good. In terms of things like "GET Is safe and effective", that's bad...

    UK: Dr Sarah Myhill

Oh Jesus. She started this out meaning well many years ago, working out of a genuine desire to improve things for PWME (although her grasp of science has never been fantastic), but now she’s fully bought into all these conspiracy theories. I read a thread on Twitter recently that might have...

Petition: Make schools, CAMHs and other professionals recognise and accept Autistic Burnout

Amongst the autistic community, this is generally considered to be a real issue. Unfortunately, it can be difficult for autistic people to identify whether they’re in autistic burnout or whether they’re developing a chronic illness.

    Local anaesthetic for ingrown toenail

In a bizarre but welcome plot twist, my toenail suddenly healed itself and surgery is no longer required.
