Brain throwing a party before bed - not pleasant

This used to be really bad for me, it was like an old fashioned film reel exploding in my head. Explosive flashes of unrelated images firing at what felt like the front of my brain. I could almost hear the camera shutter noise. Very difficult to explain, but i’d also get this huge thumb shaped...

United Kingdom: National Health Service (NHS) news

We kind of have to discuss our private health ailments in public now; just in the GP’s waiting room. If we go in person to make an appointment, you have to tell the receptionist what you think is wrong with you before being allowed an appointment. What happened to confidentiality with the GP...

Thanks @Andy and @Itsnotallaboutmepodcast I’m listening now via the link, but is there a way to access other podcasts? I can’t download new apps to my phone as i can’t sign in to apple and don’t have soundcloud or twitter. Tried typing ‘its not all about me’ on the soundcloud page that the...

Does your ME cause sleep inversion?

Only had a quick look but one website said the hydro was 4 times as powerful as other antihistamines, and they thought it caused birth defects. They decided that something so powerful had to be put on prescription. But that was only a quick look

Does your ME cause sleep inversion?

Ok i’ll try it. I buy doxy online. It used to be part of my migraine meds (the only one that ever worked, until they stopped selling it)

Does your ME cause sleep inversion?

I’m hoping to not be alive long enough to get those sorts of things... unless a cure pops up, then i may have a problem. Its been an absolute life saver for me. I doubt i’d be here without it

Does your ME cause sleep inversion?

My sleep has been quite good for the last few years thanks to doxylamine succinate. I manage an almost stable 2-3am to 9.30am. Unless i’m awake for 3 days straight with migraine. I’ve also managed to cut right down on napping through the day which is great until this past month where i’ve...

United Kingdom: BACME Guidelines for Severe ME, 2019 and 2024 update

Well that sent a chill down my spine, possibly because i don’t have enough energy for fear or anger. When i read it i thought i was reading some old guidelines but the link on their website took me to this too. So this ‘is’ the current guidelines?? And Allistair Miller is now retired from ME...

Advice needed : how do you know when you’re okay to go out ?

I do have all the proof i need that i’m disabled that i can carry on me, just depends on the copper who pulls me at the time and what mood they’re in. We have a lot of off road cycle paths here and a few parks to cut through. I’m usually out very late at night if i do get out and we don’t have...

Advice needed : how do you know when you’re okay to go out ?

You’re so lucky @andypants they were talking about changing the law here in early 2019 due to people petitioning but it’ll probably not happen. If a person is caught, they can be summoned, lose the scooter, have 6 points taken off their licence (or future licence if they’re a child) and a...

Advice needed : how do you know when you’re okay to go out ?

My main indicator is putting on make-up. I’m a make-up wearer and if i’m too ill to sit upright and put it on then i’m too ill to go out. Sometimes i’ll get my make-up on and then crash which really annoys me as i’ve then done it for nothing. @andypants i’ve just bought a little folding...
