Decreased NO production in endothelial cells exposed to plasma from ME/CFS patients, Bertinat et al (2022)

Following talk on the PR forum about NO I started taking L-Citruline 500mg & Arginine 1000mg in 2015 for a few weeks. They didn't do me any good and from what I remember I actually felt a bit worse after taking them so gave up on them.

Big improvement after period of dry weather?

In the UK we've had a period (a couple of weeks at least) of dry weather and as usual after about a week I have experienced a big improvement in my ME. I have more energy and do not suffer PEM from activities that would normally cause it. I am even able to start some minor diy work that I've had...

News about Long Covid including its relationship to ME/CFS 2020 to 2021

Long Covid: doctors find 'antibody signature' for patients most at risk Blood tests on the participants showed that those who developed long Covid – also known as post-acute Covid-19 syndrome (Pacs) – tended to have low levels of the antibodies IgM and IgG3. When Covid strikes, IgM ramps up...

News about Long Covid including its relationship to ME/CFS 2020 to 2021

I've been taking part in the ONS (Office for National Statistics) Covid study involving both a swab test for Covid-19 and a blood test for anti-bodies to the virus for the last 18 months. This involves a monthly visit from them to collect the samples and ask a multitude of questions about social...

News about Long Covid including its relationship to ME/CFS 2020 to 2021

As the threat of catching Covid begins to recede people will inevitably adopt this attitude. There is only a window of opportunity to get LC taken seriously before this view becomes the norm. With no longer a personal threat to themselves they will dismiss it as only affecting the...

Patients with (ME/CFS) Greatly Improved Fatigue Symptoms When Treated with Oxygen-Ozone Autohemotherapy 2021, Tirelli et al

Is this saying none of the patients had maintained the improvement at the 3 month point? Edit: From the main text "No patient reported adverse manifestation upon O2-O3-AHT and following the next 3 months from the treatment." It looks like the patients DID maintain the improvement at the 3...

Use of Cardiopulmonary Stress Testing for Patients With Unexplained Dyspnea Post–Coronavirus Disease, 2021, Mancini et al

Disappointing that they seem to think that it is all down to poor breathing techniques which can be cured by retraining. There may well be a physiological/biological reason for that breathing pattern and retraining won't cure that.

The new NICE guidelines - do they affect benefits at all?

The ESA work capability assessment disregards the actual illness you have and is based on how the illness affects you on a day to day basis. Two people with an identical health condition can be given quite different assessments. So I don't think the NICE review will have much impact on assessments.

United Kingdom: Petition Change.org: for a new mechanism by which M.E/C.F.S patients can report harms.

It would certainly help but I don't know if it's allowed, perhaps someone outside the UK could try and let us know.
