Strategies for coping with cognitive difficulties

I assume the higher your score the more likely you have ADHD I hope i am still around then and in decent enough health that i want to still be living  I just read the wikipedia entry on Executive function, very interesting https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_functions Assuming it...

I consider Oxford and Fukuda dead. The only reason they still come up is that they are wrong so can be used for obfuscating malfeasance.

Living Proof: documentary about MS and corruption in pharmaceutical industry and national MS society

I have not watched that documentary but this happens elsewhere as well the Michael J Fox Parkinsons charity tried to take away control of a potential Parkinsons treatment from its inventor. They went behind his back and tried to profit off it and screw the inventor over.

Indeed I'm so sorry to hear this :( The testing took herculean pressure on my part over several decades with more then a little bit of luck. More then a few doctors hate my guts because i would not listen to them and refuted their shoehorning with simple logic. Its the easiest way to make...

Strategies for coping with cognitive difficulties

Indeed, if i had the energy i could write a novel on this (and plan to if we get an ME treatment someday) I scored 73% :emoji_laughing:

I agree with both of you comorbidity is not uncommon. But being a waste basket diagnosis is a real problem, without a biomarker we will have people misdiagnosed as having ME. For study purposes they would want only ME but if they dismissed people who had ME plus something else then those...

Strategies for coping with cognitive difficulties

I don't buy this "disorder" but thats a topic for another discussion after we fix our cognitive issues. That said i would agree executive function is a big issue, also working memory, i can't write articles or sustain tasks that are complicated yet i am full of useful information and can do...

Very interesting. I wonder if such a thing would be helpful for ME

I disagree Cool, i didn't know you were a lawyer. If i might ask what do you think of the posts i have made in the last few pages about ME and the legal route? Thanks Its common in politics and people fall for it over and over and over again, easy answers, un(dis)provable but laughable...

Thats a necessary piece but just money is not enough For a legal challenge to win we need a good argument that makes sense to the judge or jury (if applicable) Excellent evidence (some money involved) Amazing lawyers (big money often necessary) In theory a trial is about finding the truth, in...

Things like painkillers and antidepressants and so forth would likely be prescribed by most docs if requested. Of course some have bad docs but that applies to any condition. Having specialists in ME for patients to visit would be nice, but the legal system is not exactly involved here. It...

One could in theory make it a charter lawsuit. The legal costs and length of such a lawsuit not to mention how much it would make the patients involved worse is not going to be pretty. And victory will come down to luck, it would be very precedent setting in either a good or bad way depending on...

That person didn't know what they were talking about. Sometimes individual people can inspire big picture answers, sometimes they are just sand traps. I don't care if research money comes form private or public, just that we need all that we can get. We are a harder group to get money out of...

Thats the first step for us, but it would be a good first step for them trying to reach researchers.
