Neuro appointment soon.... Avoiding an FND diagnosis

I wouldnt let location sway your decision to much, i live a very very long way from FND central & was still given that dx, so although i could be wrong, i wouldnt have thought the location makes you any more/less likely to get given one. I think if you get referred with neuro symptoms for...

Can somebody please clarify where NICE have defended themselves... is it that theyve sent a rebuttal to the BMJ or is it just a comment on the guardian article or??? sorry getting a bit confused

Anomalies in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline for (CFS & ME), 2023, White et al

oh haha! LOL duh :emoji_face_palm: i was thinking you meant that things had been better recently or something. When you said the following, i focussed on the bit i've emboldened - like 'back to' meant we hadnt been there for a while lol I see how you meant it now, I'm with you and i agree...

    Research news from Bhupesh Prusty

Perhaps i am wrong about this specific research. But every other animal model of CFS i ever saw was utterly stupid.... believing you can give ME/CFS to animals by exhausting them. As if CFS were exhaustion! So i certainly hope he's not going to fall into that trap. Surely not.... but nothing...

Anomalies in the review process and interpretation of the evidence in the NICE guideline for (CFS & ME), 2023, White et al

changed? not sure what you mean, it feels like yet more of the same to me. This is what we've been dealing with consistently for the last 20yrs isnt it?Especially since 2011 when PACE first was let loose. I mean sure the odd better piece, notably from Sean O'Neill in the Times, but from where...

The Observer/Guardian article: Does the microbiome hold the key to chronic fatigue? About patient led 'research' group Remission Biome.

yes its dreadful, and why i only really access S4 for ME related conversation, everywhere else seems to suffer from at least some of this problem. Even MEA fb. At least its safe here on S4.

    Lightning Process - discussion thread

eeww, that sounds creepy to me, i dont really want someone else to 'craft' my life for me thank you absolutely, and to convince the employer of such. This is whats so dreadful about it, that if 20 people in a big organisation do it & 2 get better, all the others will be blamed for not doing it...

NHS: GP surgeries; privatisation; physician associates

To be fair i dont think this is about it being a PA, but about that particular PA being useless! A patient's leg being swollen & hot isnt anxiety is it!? Prat. I'm not at all medically qualified & even i know that those symptoms in addition to shortness of breath = go to A&E it might be a clot...

exactly, it seems we humans are so prone to "after it therefore because of it" type attributions. I'm sure i've done it myself dozens of times. And likely will again

    Lightning Process - discussion thread

Already on their way to healing, does 'X' process & instead of realising that since they were already getting better, they would have gotten dramatically better regardless, they accredit it to 'X'. I dont know how you fight that :banghead: seems like everyone is prone to doing it, i know i...

Long Covid in the media and social media 2023

that protest looks really powerful @rvallee Am i interpreting you correctly that antivaxxers are hijacking it pretending it was about covid vaccine damage rather than ME/CFS & LC?

Pitching to Panorama: Efforts to commission a documentary on NICE guideline, bad science (PACE etc), and patient harm

THIS Id like to see a feature length or hour long 'episode featuring all the content from the Dialogues short videos. If that could be made into something it would be amazing. Otherwise i worry very much that whatever is done will be an overall negative. Particularly since we have the whole...

Class Action Lawsuit/Group Litigation/Inquiry for pwME

True, but given the fluctuating nature and unclear aetiology of ME/CFS i dont think "i did this treatment and then i became bedbound" (for example), would cut it for any standard. Reports of harm were only taken seriously by NICE because there were so many saying the same thing i think. Defence...

Class Action Lawsuit/Group Litigation/Inquiry for pwME

It certainly would, but I think its unlikely that could happen with the science as it stands. The issue would be proving that it's GET that made them worse. Post hoc propter hoc isnt legal proof & could easily be argued against in a court scenario.

Pitching to Panorama: Efforts to commission a documentary on NICE guideline, bad science (PACE etc), and patient harm

Yes i've watched it. But i still maintain that the whole 'mind body connection' thing is much more beloved & popular than it was 20yrs ago. I've watched as the cult of Positive Mental Attitude & mind-body has risen in popularity until its become almost ubiquitous. So an editorial team/journalist...
