Trials on therapist-delivered treatments (for illnesses or symptoms that don't have biomarkers yet) that used objective outcomes as primary endpoints

Good idea! Unfortunately, I won't be able to contribute much to this thread myself, so any input and discussion much appreciated. If anyone feels up to have a look at the Cochrane reviews, that would be great, too. I did a search a while ago on reviews on exercise for fatigue in MS. That...

Trials on therapist-delivered treatments (for illnesses or symptoms that don't have biomarkers yet) that used objective outcomes as primary endpoints

Example of a systematic review of trials using health care utilization as an objective outcome That's not a good example because it didn't investigate effects on a symptom or on disability, but on an emotional state -- reassurance. I am not sure if health care utilization usually counts as...

Trials on therapist-delivered treatments (for illnesses or symptoms that don't have biomarkers yet) that used objective outcomes as primary endpoints

As the title indicates. Looking for examples of such trials. Systematic reviews (*) of trials that excluded (or downgraded to very low quality) non-blinded trials that used only subjective outcomes as primary endpoints also welcome. Suggestions on amendments to the threads' title or topic...

Independent advisory group for the full update of the Cochrane review on exercise therapy and ME/CFS (2020), led by Hilda Bastian

Am too slow to catch up with the thread and wording my points takes too much time so apologies for my odd posting behaviour. When re-reading through the therad a bit there are so many points others and I have made already and I think still apply. On the other hand, ist seems that the links to...

Independent advisory group for the full update of the Cochrane review on exercise therapy and ME/CFS (2020), led by Hilda Bastian

see my addition here. I agree the editor's reply to the comment is appalling. I think it would be good if forum members could collect some points about the review authors' work that we would like to discuss and of which it would be good to know the authors' current stance. Editedt to add: I...

Independent advisory group for the full update of the Cochrane review on exercise therapy and ME/CFS (2020), led by Hilda Bastian

Apologies for not checking / mentioning the dates: The comment is from 2000, Henschke joined the author team in 2010-- now edited my post to point to the dates: didn't check the revisions so no idea how the author team from 2010 (when Henschke joined them) responded to it, also don't know...

Comment from 2000 on the review Behavioural treatment for chronic low‐back pain quoted above -- didn't check the revisions so no idea how the author team from 2010 (when Henschke joined them) responded to it, also don't know Henschke's current stance on that: Comment on the Back Group...

Apologies for self-quoting. Searching for references to Barry's posts I stumbled across a somewhat related post that seems still to be relevant: The addition about the review authors was made back then.

DecodeME - UK ME/CFS DNA study underway

Not sure if I'm the target group and maybe don't feel up to be an ambassador but filled in the following: A bit odd, I'm afraid: I mainly use e-mail to ask people to spread content both via e-mail and social media -- mostly facebook, but also Twitter.

Government and Insurance companies - establishing the BPS model

Thanks. Just to clarify: I didn't worry abouth Faulkner's understanding. Just curious about his work on ME research / politics. Also, wondered whether @Hilda Bastian is aware of the links and even positions of some trial investigators within insurance companies, and that Peter White and others...

CONservative TReatment of Appendicitis in Children: a randomised controlled feasibility Trial (CONTRACT) , Hall, Crawley et al, 2021

Yes. I posted the document here because it may indicate that EC's research topics seem to be influenced also by Bristol Uni's infrastructure. Not able to assess the quality of the appendicitis study and EC's role in it, also not able to assess the concept of the "hub" within this and also EC's...

Just would like to add that it's both worthwhile that they pause their public involvment for a very important enterprise and a pity that their pause is taking longer than planned. I miss their comments here.
