Non-hospitalised Children & young people (CYP) with Long Covid (The CLoCk Study), 2021, Stephenson and Crawley

Agree with you of course. Absoud could be referring here to the alleged finding more people with poorer mental health had multiple symptoms at baseline than those who had one symptom or less at baseline. Note though being female, older, and poorer baseline physical health also risk factors...

Non-hospitalised Children & young people (CYP) with Long Covid (The CLoCk Study), 2021, Stephenson and Crawley

These comments by Dr Michael Absoud, author of Zoe app LC study, in SMC’s expert reaction to preprint from the CLoCk study (Chalder and Crawley two of the many authors) looking at long COVID in children are concerning. “With regards possible markers for multiple symptoms – being female, older...

Article and Documentary BBC: Long Covid: Early findings bring hope for diagnostic tests

Thank you. Someone wrote this on Facebook: “dr Danny Altmann was a speaker at a longcovid medical webinar recently (which insultingly had sir Simon Wessely as a chair for a session) Dr shepherd, who attended, said whilst discussing ME type issues, none of them referred to ME or acknowledged it...

When is post viral illness PVFS and when is it ME/CFS? Discussion.

Regarding BPS people thinking ME is not any more real than CFS, I note in a talk by U.K. Prof Peter White - one of the major U.K. bps proponents (now retired) - he gave in 2008 at a CFS conference at the Royal Society of Medicine (used to be available on YouTube) he claimed ME was a...

When is post viral illness PVFS and when is it ME/CFS? Discussion.

Yet Dr Ramsay, also from the UK, wrote this in the preface of the 1988 2nd edition of his short book, ‘ME and post viral fatigue states, The Saga of Royal Free Disease’.

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

Hope I am not digressing too much but has anyone shared Gerada is still at it? She posted the above on 7 Feb. Then went on to defend saying the same incorrect statement as in her BBC interview in light of a recent - IMO badly headlined - article on CFS and ‘exercise’, tweet below, that she was...

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

Sorry typing very limited. I accept she had abuse then from the mask/Covid deniers around that time but on the Monday TG had also shared Garner’s blog post saying was interesting, perhaps indicated a GET trial was needed. The next day she used a block chain app. With so many people with ME...

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

I had concerns about how things could turn out with Garner if he recovered - a distinct possibility having been ill for only a few months - ever since he wrote the above back in June. I was amazed he accepted such an explanation.

    Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

I have zero knowledge in the field of immunology so take what I say with a pinch of salt, but I think I have read they still haven’t established - though they are hopeful it will - whether people who have the vaccine still could possibly transmit the virus if they are exposed to it?

BPS attempts at psychologizing Long Covid

PeeWee, I am just reading the article. It’s dreadful. Says large mental health component in CFS and implying long CoVid may be similar. From the article: “The complex nature of CFS means that improved medical testing is only part of the picture for providing better help for those living with...
