    Concerns about Cochrane

We're not the only ones with negative consequense from null-findings beeing reported as positive studies, hidden data and government recommandations based on bad advice :-( http://ijme.in/articles/the-crisis-in-cochrane-evidence-debased-medicine/?galley=html#.W-B0LGYKq-k.twitter

Cochrane ME/CFS GET review temporarily withdrawn

And of course this bit is spectaculary untrue. It's controversial because it goes against patients experiences - and the main symptom of the illness. It's controversial - because the claims made goes against solid research, on the very bad effects exercise have on an ME-sick persons body.

Cochrane ME/CFS GET review temporarily withdrawn

*sigh* They (of course) attempt to do just what several of us suspected... I do wonder what Cochrane's respons to the updated version will be, crossing fingers they will be able to see throug any attempts to do minor changes and hiding bias. Is this true? Does anyone know what studies he...

The Guardian's Science Weekly podcast - 2 November 2018 - What role should the public play in science?

I read that as he's angeling for the "angry (male) online activists attaching themselfs to any cause" - as they have done before? And that was dismissed in the court case over releasing the data? Maybe time to look for any useful quotes from the ruling....? Edit: But with his usual vagueness...

    News from Scandinavia

 It's her legal name, yes. :) Live is pronounced more like "leave-eh". Sounds different to english speakers I'm sure, but Live is a common enough female name over here :) 2 858 females to be exact, just checked with the Statistics Norway database ;) Landmark a bit less common, only 420...

    News from Scandinavia

No - she is the person who brought LP/lightning process to Norway and is heavily involved in promoting of LP for ME-patients (beeing a former patient herself). Some may call that a cult, but not likely the one your thinking of?

Finally finnished it all, and it's just so good and spot on! You relly do have both a clear eye and a sharp pen Brian, thank you! I can see why also non-patients are taken by this post - you explain the going on's in a very approchable language. The whole thing is quotable! But this little...

The Triumph of Eminence-Based Medicine - Brian Hughes

David Marks have made a similar point - I love how these psycologist/psychiatrics (?) can, and do, say things no patients advocate could allow themselfs  https://davidfmarks.com/2018/09/22/psychology-science-or-delusion/

Cochrane ME/CFS GET review temporarily withdrawn

But remember - we don't know how the e-mail ended up in Reuters. We don't know if this media exposure was orchestred by Larun, someone on her team - or (more likley?) someone else...? I suspect, someone on the team might have showed the e-mail to someone they have a working relationship with -...

The Guardian's Science Weekly podcast - 2 November 2018 - What role should the public play in science?

But since it's so one-sided, could it be possible to advocate for a podcast with arguments from scientist on "the other side"? David Marks would love some airtime I would guess, or Geraghty - or others?

Petition against National Competence center for CFS/ME with BPS approach in Norway - anyone can sign

But Vogt isn't really working on ME or even functional disorders, even if he has written some opinion pieces about it. That's the wierd thing about him - and several other prominent voices in the norwegian ME-debate. They don't work in the field, even from an BPS- approach. "The ME-debate" over...

Petition against National Competence center for CFS/ME with BPS approach in Norway - anyone can sign

@Kalliope Or others, do we know where this information comes from? It's the one thing not linked? As the study is not stopped, we know the complaint didn't succseed. The reasoning from the NBHS would be good to know, and possibly and advocatong tool? And didn't the same happen to the...
