Preprint Inflammation from mild COVID-19 results in persistent neurological and behavioral changes in rhesus macaques, 2025, Salinas et al.

Do macaques know how to catastrophize? Are they ruminating? Can't they handle stress? How about body image?

Trial Report Virtual Pet–Assisted Therapy to Alleviate Symptoms of Long COVID: A Prospective Pilot Interventional Study, 2025, Kamo et al

Does this kind of research show the bankrupt of real ideas how to help patients. Those patients with a psychological components react best? Yuk!! No control group. Could have been done without too much effort. I find this kind of "research" offensive.

Autonomic function testing and symptom severity in patients with suspected mast cell activation disorders, 2025, Stino et al.

Would be nice if researchers tried to include POTS, dOH and normal BP and heartrate in the OI studies. I always feel forgotten when it's POTS, POTS, POTS sometimes dOH, and not my OI. Thanks @SNT Gatchaman !

Excessive vigorous exercise impairs cognitive function through a muscle-derived mitochondrial pretender, 2025, Huang et al.

Would 2 x 800 meters on an electric bike qualify as excessive vigorous exercise?

Glymphatic clearance controls state-dependent changes in brain lactate concentration, 2017, Lundgaard et al.

I only partially went through the paper. Question : Could lactate also be used up as fuel in the brain when there is not enough glucose/pyruvate available, in ME/CFS?

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

Thinking about this a little longer: "Graded exposure therapy". Is PG willing to torture patients with more PEM?

Does the pathology of ME/CFS include brain damage?

Maybe it ain't broke but sometimes certainly not working in an intelligent way. I had to start injecting insuline for diabetes. So I collected the insuline from the pharmacy, already halfway to the supermarket, got me some groceries, too much again (intruduction). This time I decided to hide...

Interpretation bias modification (CBM-I) for fatigue in long term health conditions – A feasibility study 2025 Moss-Morris, Chalder, Hirsch et al

Only 4 participants with CFS/LC made it to T3, the follow up questionaire. 4 out of 13, quite a drop out rate, way more than the 70% retention rate the authors mention, 5 didn't even do the T1. In total 33 CFS/LC ending up with only 18, that's not 70% , 4 + 14 (controls) Not able to retain...

Opinion The role of co-infection in the pathogenesis of acute SARS-CoV-2 infection and development of post-acute sequelae: A perspective, 2025, Henrich et al.

When there is real evidence for this, I had no escape having EBV and pneumonia together as my starting point of ME/CFS. And as fas as I know I didnt even get covid, but all the more reason to keep as far away from it as I can.

Abnormal breathing patterns and hyperventilation are common in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome during exercise, 2025, Mancini, Natelson et al

Blood is not getting there where it is needed (in exercise). Could that lead to ischemia, hypoperfusion and reperfusion and produce itaconate? Itaconate shutting down aerobic metabolism making things worse? And when that happens repeatedly causing PEM? Just dumb questions asking for smarter...

Chronic Pain Prevalence, Characteristics, and Impact in United States Adults With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis 2025 Adamowicz+

That must be why Dutch doctors are still wrong about ME/CVS, their titles are in front of their names. It's all between the ears of the docs now, lack of knowledge and pigheadedness.

Pain Catastrophizing and its Domains Significantly Impact Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity, 2025, Currado et al

Can this be called an objective test? With all those feelings words isn't that putting words in the patients mouth? "I keep thinking how much it hurts" "I anxiously want the pain to go away. Has anyone of you ever used a sentence like this?

If a cure for ME/CFS was found tomorrow, would our GPs reach out to tell us?

If it depends on my GP I'd be the last to know about treatment.
