In-Patient Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (1996) Wessely et al

Thank you, @Valentijn, for your analysis and opinion on this topic! Honestly, this high degree of narcisstic love for one's self and the way how they're treating humans (as mindless little beings who have no self and will) is quite annoying, especially for an autarchy and freedom loving human...

In-Patient Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (1996) Wessely et al

What I always wonder about: How do they find volunteers for such studies? Or aren't they volunteers at all, getting the "option" to participate or social aid is cut? Even if one believed in psychological illnesses, wouldn't one feel weird about being told "all is in your head and we will...

Taking Biotin supplement? A very important warning...

That was what I was thinking. Heart stroke symptoms are clear, most often, especially in men. Maybe they thought he had a psychological issue after the normal troponin test. In case of TSH, ft3 anf ft4 results it might be much more difficult with clinical symptoms, but in the article above the...

    USA - Mayo clinic

@Valentijn The people I met are great, helpful and respectful, and in my view competent, doing ME research themselves. I do wonder if I misunderstood; but probably not. I never asked them, though, because I am too thankful for their help. And honestly, I don't dare :) In the end, it didn't...

Taking Biotin supplement? A very important warning...

What I don't understand with regard to the death case - apart from the lab result, weren't there some symptoms?

    USA - Mayo clinic

That tells me that people who recommend that never tried for themselves. Yoga and Pilates are really hard. I never found yoga relaxing, it just hurt all the time and everywhere. Of course, the fault is in me...

    USA - Mayo clinic

@Valentijn Yes, you are right, it is a form of GET. I was told to avoid crashes, though. At that point I believed I would get healthy if I rested enough. Ha! :grumpy: But I was and am very surprised - this was told by the Scheibenbogen group. I am certain they don't think ME (CFS) is...

Trial By Error: The Crawley Chronicles, Continued

Well, there are lots of differences between a uni and a company, including this one. It's only possible as you said: Some superior needs to "discipline" her. I fear that won't happen.

Trial By Error: The Crawley Chronicles, Continued

That's one part of it; and it's definitely right for self-employed lawyers although they value their reputation, too. To win a case, often it is major to know the facts. In case of a legal department of a company or a university it is a bit different. Sure, you have to act in the...

    USA - Mayo clinic

I was told that, too, and was reminded of GET, but told myself it can't be, those are the "good" guys (doing ME/CFS research and going to conferences...). And I think it isn't GET, or is it? Whatever, it doesn't work for me. I was told to learn relaxation techniques, too. o_O

Trial By Error: The Crawley Chronicles, Continued

What surprised me from the beginning was that David Tuller knew of no cease and desist letter. This means, IF a letter was sent, it was sent without certified mail, which is VERY uncommon when it comes to legal matters, because such a letter will be most probably useless. The alleged receiver...

Autoimmune antibodies - testing issues help needed

What actually means that ratio 1:60 and so on? And when would you say "this might hint to autoimmunity", e.g. if ANA > 1:60 or 1:80 or...?

Periodic Paralysis, myotonia, channelopathy and ME

@MErmaid, what are these parathyroid injections? Do you have parathyroid problems, too?

Periodic Paralysis, myotonia, channelopathy and ME

That's definitely true for me. One doctor told me to go on looking (but for him, ME was a waste basket diagnosis, and I don't agree on that; at least he took me serious). I am motivated to arrange further going diagnostic. My GP won't be happy I fear :)

Sickness behaviour – useful concept or psycho-humbug?

To me, sexual selection and courtship are different. In my opinion sexual selection isn't connected with intelligence, courtship could be. Or more general: I don't think basic needs are linked to intelligence - they're just there - but how to get them, that is. Edit: I agree with Wonko - I...

    B6 deficiency and intolerance

I take around 1400mg of magnesium compounds daily. I can try to go higher. Anaemia shouldn't be present, but to be honest, I don't know for 100%. My laboratory results are always dismissed as okay even if some are out of "normal bounds". But shouldn't rise ALP with magnesium and zinc intake if...

    B6 deficiency and intolerance

I was supplementing P5P. I never tried the non-phosphorilated B6 versions (like pyridoxine). Maybe I should? I tried taking P5P and Riboflavin (phosphorilated) in a certain ratio due to someone's personal experiments, but still reacted to B6. I have no problem with B2 alone or the other...

    B6 deficiency and intolerance

Hi @alec, Thank you so much for answering! My low alkaline phosphotase levels were suggestive for hypophosphatasia, but this was ruled out. My levels remain low; in fact, over the years, they decreased further, even though I supplement Mg and zinc. My searches (and laboratory results) led me...
