PACE trial TSC and TMG minutes released

Would all this be interesting for Myhill's complaint to GMC?

PACE trial TSC and TMG minutes released

Those actometers really are a bit bothersome - so what?! Are we three-year-olds? I have to wear it for one week every three months, also during sleep and showering. I don't like it, but it's no burden. That's just a cheap excuse of the PACE authors.

    CBT- Jen Brea Twitter

I ponder about that for a while now... The problem is a little bit like with "psychological diagnoses". Officially (somewhere in the past it seems...), before diagnosing a "psychological disease" all other possible physical causes must be excluded --- before diagnosing ME all other possible...

    CBT- Jen Brea Twitter

Only if you happen to lack money. If you have enough money, lots of diagnostics is performed, often helpful and insightful. I sometimes watch a TV show where people with rare and difficult illnesses are presented. One thing that was conspicuous was the amount of imaging, laboratory and other...

The Medical Care Blog: The myth of female hysteria and health disparities among women

Such things were really said! And: I think this is supposed to be funny. And I could laugh indeed if it wasn't for this statement: This, without any doubt, reveals a highly questionable character unfit for scientific work. (The quotes are from reference [8].) That's just so unbelievable...

Book due out: "Doing Harm: The Truth About How Bad Medicine and Lazy Science Leave Women Dismissed, Misdiagnosed, and Sick by Maya Dusenbery"

I went through Leon Bradlow's publication list and looked at his 80s publications - there wasn't a study where it was mentioned the cohort consisted only of men (where it was about breast cancer, estrogen, uterine cancer). But to be fair, most papers are behind paywalls, and many abstracts...

Book due out: "Doing Harm: The Truth About How Bad Medicine and Lazy Science Leave Women Dismissed, Misdiagnosed, and Sick by Maya Dusenbery"

Still...that this should really have happened..? You want to know more about breast and uterine cancer and only look at men? It's really hard for me to believe such a thing really happened. Hm.

Book due out: "Doing Harm: The Truth About How Bad Medicine and Lazy Science Leave Women Dismissed, Misdiagnosed, and Sick by Maya Dusenbery"

Maybe because they are girls, and as you know, it was the woman that brought sin into the world and who reproduces it (due to e.g. Augustinus). Nowadays there even still exist people who think that euthanasia is a good thing, so why not believe in the inferiority of the female, too - or in any...

Book due out: "Doing Harm: The Truth About How Bad Medicine and Lazy Science Leave Women Dismissed, Misdiagnosed, and Sick by Maya Dusenbery"

I like what Maya Dusenbery writes. I often had the thought that psychiatry is sexistic. Of course, many men suffer (and have suffered) due to psychiatry, too. But when I came across stories from the past - where e.g. some husbands were fed up with their wives and decided to dispose themselves...

Yes, you can buy it online via his homepage. I think so, too. I value that. Still, well-meant is not well-done.

Guidance for commissioners of services for people with medically unexplained symptoms - 2017

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is listed as an example for MUS. There's a German guideline going into that direction, too. Maybe it's time to dig up the "ME vs. CFS" discussion again (well, not literally :) ), and not to focus on whether the word is the correct one for the disease, but which one is...

New German guideline for ME published today

Yes, that's what I wondered, too. Quite a coincidence that he should confirm Mrs Klasing's "private" eMail. Thank you, @Snow Leopard. As a hypothesis "the amygdala arousal" may have its place, but to state it as fact is not acceptable. So it seems there are different belief groups - the BPS...

Dr Myhill’s complaint to GMC about PACE authors.

Today I sent my letter via eMail. Tomorrow I will send it via post too, as said on MyHill's homepage. Thank you, @Keela Too, your letter was helpful.

New German guideline for ME published today

From Prof. Stark's statement: Are there objective proofs for these statements? Is this reality? Do people here experience that? In my personal case the amygdala is undersupplied (or under-active). Maybe that's not a contradiction though?! Of course, the self-help module he talks about is not...
