ME/CFS success story: Lightning Process on Youtube 2019

@Peter, thank you for sharing! I always feel insane just hearing positive testinonials everywhere. It helps to know others had the same experience, though I'm so sorry you went through that. I agree so much! The LP coaches saying patients have adapted badly to their illness is false and very...

Survey of activity pacing across healthcare professionals informs a new activity pacing framework for chronic pain/fatigue, 2019, Antcliff et al

One of my problems with "pacing" or anything else taught by health practitioners to ME patients, is that they always insist on having the goal of making the patient better, even when that might not be possible. Being met with that attitude is really distressing, and makes the patient feel like...

ME/CFS success story: Lightning Process on Youtube 2019

When I did the LP, one of the things we learned was to exaggerate the way we talk about our health in a positive way. After day one, we were told to go do something out of the ordinary, now that we had this great tool for health. We could do anything now! Then on day two we did an exercise...

ME/CFS success story: Lightning Process on Youtube 2019

I also wonder why the LP marketing is so targeted towards ME, when Phil Parker says it also cures eczema amongst other things. My sister has eczema, but doesn't get recommended the LP every time she's in public. And no health practitioner would ever dream of suggesting she tried the LP. But...

ME/CFS success story: Lightning Process on Youtube 2019

I'm not just confused by the amount of recovery stories, but I'm confused by the amount of people that think positively about the Lightning Process at all. Not meaning to minimize the value people found in it, just expressing honest confusion about what that value is. To me the course was such...

ME/CFS success story: Lightning Process on Youtube 2019

How is the LP able to get so many recovery stories. I don't get it. Is the ME diagnosis given that losely, or is there actually a large amount of people with ME that recover spontaneously? I've always thought the percentage was quite small, but the amount of recovery stories from unscientific...

ME Association guest blog: "There’s No Point in me having a Netflix subscription or an Audible account" by Anna Wood

This is my exact experience too. If I could only cure one aspect of my illness as it is now, I would chose the cognitive impairment, even though I am in bed 23+ hours every day. The cognitive symptoms are what hinders my quality of life the most.

The science of craniocervical instability and other spinal issues and their possible connection with ME/CFS - discussion thread

I've felt this too! Sending good thoughts to you <3 :emoji_blossom: What has helped me a bit lately is the perspective that for me this isn't about each patient going out on their own to find a cure. We're a lot of people in the same situation, and what I hope for is research and treatment...

The science of craniocervical instability and other spinal issues and their possible connection with ME/CFS - discussion thread

I'm sorry if this post is off topic. It's not about the science or anything, just my thoughts on the way these news has affected me. _____________ @lunarainbows I relate to your experience so much, except I didn't get an MRI because I would have to go abroad to do that. But I've been extremely...

Clinical and cost-effectiveness of the Lightning Process ... for paediatric chronic fatigue syndrome, 2018, Crawley et al (Smile Trial)

This has been my understanding of their view too, but it sounds too incredible that someone could actually have that theory, so I've been afraid I'm completely misunderstanding them. Thank you for the link!

Clinical and cost-effectiveness of the Lightning Process ... for paediatric chronic fatigue syndrome, 2018, Crawley et al (Smile Trial)

@Andy, @Trish, thank you for the welcomes and your replies! This is such a shame. I feel like by not explaining what the Lightning Process is they are glossing over the pseudoscientific aspects of it. If they actually published their theories it would be possible to look into them and and...

Clinical and cost-effectiveness of the Lightning Process ... for paediatric chronic fatigue syndrome, 2018, Crawley et al (Smile Trial)

Hi. I’m wondering if someone can help me understand these questions I have about the trial. I’m confused why in the abstract the conclusion is: while at the end of the article, the conclusion is: Aren’t these two different conclusions? How can they say it is effective, but later say it may...
