Community Symposium on the Molecular Basis of ME/CFS Sept 5 (Stanford/Ron Davis)

Am I right in thinking that the standard MRI scans that some PwME will have had for other reasons will be useless without this specific tracer? I would happily volunteer mine in a call for research data if they could be of some use.

Is ME/CFS a form of Host versus Host disease?

I was wondering whether this lymph idea relates to why I feel like death when I wake up in the morning, to the extent that it's extremely difficult to make myself get out of bed, but when I finally drag myself out and start moving (thus presumably starting up the muscle action that moves lymph)...

Open Norway: Plasma cell aimed treatment with daratumumab in ME/CFS (ResetME) - Haukeland University Hospital

I'd start a thread myself but I don't know enough about the trial and why it's important. Would someone who knows what they're talking about like to start a fundraising thread for it that explains why it's worth backing, and gives a link to the English details about donation?

Open Norway: Plasma cell aimed treatment with daratumumab in ME/CFS (ResetME) - Haukeland University Hospital

That's very good, getting an English-language page up, and Paypal - is it worth having a thread purely on the fundraising?

Is ME/CFS a form of Host versus Host disease?

If a range of drugs might be effective for ME/CFS under your model, is there any way to access data on PwME who have already had those drugs as treatments for concurrent conditions (how rituximab got noticed for ME/CFS, of course)? Is there any way to mine national NHS GP records for an ME/CFS...

Is ME/CFS a form of Host versus Host disease?

Would the model require swollen and tender lymph nodes? I can't remember if I had them in the early years of my ME/CFS - it's so long ago - but I don't have any now.

Thanks for the updates, Binkie4 - rest well, and good luck with your hospital appointment.

Community Symposium on the Molecular Basis of ME/CFS Sept 5 (Stanford/Ron Davis)

At these annual events, I find myself wondering how much progress the field has made since the previous year. I realise that the public talks don't represent what is going on in the closed-door talks, and of course DecodeME represents a huge step forward, but I'm curious to know what people's...

415 people already on the webinar, apparently, with a lot more signed up... Starting now, being recorded...

Reddit - Interesting posts on Reddit, including what some doctors say about ME/CFS

I think we just don't know how PwME are being treated by their GPs overall. It's natural for people to complain when they're treated badly and to not say anything when their expectations are met. I'm also treated well by my GP practice, though of course they have no specialist knowledge and...

Autonomic Dysfunction in ME/CFS: Findings from the Multi-Site Clinical Assessment of ME/CFS (MCAM) Study in the USA, 2025, Unger et al

Recruiting PwME from clinics means that the housebound, who are likely to have the worst OI, won't have been included, so the study's results will be an underestimate of the problem. It's good that they're looking, though. However: The standard interventions have had zero effect on my OI. I'm...

    News from Germany

How can one know it's likely that a patient has a psychosomatic disorder? So many things seem to be getting swept up under that heading these days that I wonder how any sensible line is drawn.

    News from Germany

I've often thought that so many videos give the wrong impression, simply by virtue of showing a PwME actively speaking (in most cases), and often having clearly tried to smarten themselves up for public viewing, as opposed to being unkempt and in their jimjams. Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

Could plant biology tell us anything useful about ME/CFS?

Surprising! From the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences: Maureen R. Hanson is Liberty Hyde Bailey Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics. She received a B.S. degree at Duke University and a Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology from Harvard University...

Could plant biology tell us anything useful about ME/CFS?

Turns out I am not the only person to be wondering this! https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/understanding-plant-immunity-to-improve-human-health It says: MSU Foundation Professor Brad Day, in the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences, is bridging the knowledge gap between the immune...

Community Symposium on the Molecular Basis of ME/CFS Sept 5 (Stanford/Ron Davis)

I'm not familiar with that guy or his work but if it's unscientific and poorly done then does OMF have Twitter or FB or similar where people can post questions/feedback? It would be very helpful in general to provide constructive and polite feedback about the science at the conference.

Could plant biology tell us anything useful about ME/CFS?

The answer to this might be, 'No, don't be ridiculous,' but this is the latest in my random wonderings. Plants and animals have the same common genetic ancestor (thanks, Google), and both face immune challenges. I don't know how much their defence mechanisms have in common - maybe not much - but...
