Article claiming acupuncture on parents would treat their kids through quantum entanglement has been retracted. Retraction Watch, April 2019

Begs the terrible question of what else you’d be doing to your kids via quantum entanglement if this were true..... Thank goodness it’s BS.

Genetic analysis identifies molecular systems and biological pathways associated with household income, 2019, Hill et al

Thank you, my knowledge on this subject is almost non existent so I was curious if anything like that were possible. It’s interesting to know that it’s not.

Genetic analysis identifies molecular systems and biological pathways associated with household income, 2019, Hill et al

Could environmental factors influence genes like this? A few generations of poor diet due to poverty and higher air pollution in poorer areas for example.

'We're absolutely appalled' say mesh campaigners over NICE decision - ITV news Apr 2019

I’ve been disappointed with how the problems have been framed. There seems to be an issue with implants in general and a lack of testing and trials. The media focus is very narrow in my opinion.

I agree with that, the more we know the safer and more effective they can be.

Minister targets anti-vaccination websites - BBC March 2019

Wasn’t there a study on post HPV vaccine ME/CFS done recently that found it was just coincidence? Ultimately there’s always a tiny risk of serious complications with vaccines of course, it’s all a case of risk vs reward.

S4ME letter to NICE and Replies, re: "three members of the ME/CFS Guideline Committee have a conflict of interest"

I think just more general critical thinking and research skills are desperately needed in schools. It’s infuriating to watch people just accept things.

Brian Hughes - If you spend 20 years gaslighting your patients, perhaps you should think twice before accusing *them* of trolling *you*

Thank you for saying that Jonathan. As a mental health sufferer you summed up my thoughts on this better than I ever could.

Ethical classification of ME/CFS in the United Kingdom (2019) Diane O'Leary

Im quite happy to say CBT and SSRIs have helped me immensely to cope with my OCD. I’m also happy to say it’s done bugger all for my ME/CFS.

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

I’m just skeptical that any of these treatments have been discovered yet and I’m done experimenting on myself until there’s some evidence to back up anecdotal reports. Edited for duplicated word

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

I don’t, I’ve tried lots and nothing has worked. I like to see if there’s any evidence for something working before trying it these days.

What's in a name? Change to Ramsays?

Agree completely, the final name will only appear once we work out what this illness actually is. All the name arguments are just a pointless distraction in my opinion.

Everything is slightly too short for me at 5.11. What a load of nonsense

UK: PIP appeals - advice, recommendations?

I think the only way you’d get a change at MR is if you included significant new medical evidence. Otherwise it’s just something to go through as wonko said. So don’t feel bad that you didn’t have more information at the time.
