Part of the issue for me with this plea is the fact it can be interpreted in so many ways, a lot of them bad it seems.
If the original message isn’t being communicated clearly then everyone’s individual interpretation is as valid as anyone else’s.
This is just a disaster.
Plus if you are eating a gluten free diet you tend to eat other grains in greater amounts, rice in particular as that tends to be the basis of gluten free flours but also corn and other less common ones. I assume those contain plenty of glyphosate. I just can’t see the link.
When something that is supposed to be a simple, impactful and easily understood statement fails to be easily understood without a google search I believe you’ve failed. This campaign has the added problem that not only will people not understand it (in my opinion) they will think they understand...
If you have to google the meaning of something to understand it then I don’t think it’s been explained well enough in the first place. Any individual can do as they please but I don’t think it would be a good campaign to do en masse.
I have found found this thread on the whole a bit glib and dismissive of people suffering from hair loss. It can be a very traumatic experience for people, especially women, leading to depression, isolation and thoughts of suicide. Not every person losing their hair suffers these problems but...
The best some of us with mental health problems can hope for is to “cover them up”. There’s no amount of vitamins or debunked diets that are going to cure us. It would be wonderful if I could just change my diet and not be subject to the living hell my mind puts me through sometimes but it’s not...
Sounds pretty dismissive of ME/CFS to me from that quote posted. What she actually thinks about the condition I don’t know but that quote doesn’t sound great.
Xylitol is really good, it even works well for baking which isn’t always the case with sugar alternatives. Just a word of warning for anyone trying it though, it can cause digestive issues so start slow!
I personally didn’t feel any better being off sugar so I just try to not to have too much...
I’ve heard from ME/CFS patients that claim to have been helped by many debunked things such as homeopathy and kinesiology, this to me shows why people can’t be trusted to self report improvments in this way. Big trials are the way we find out what helps and the PACE trial actually did that...
Piracy is just part of the world and has been for many years in various forms. It’s very hard to know what effects it has on sales and in my opinion it’s counterproductive to get too aggressive agaisnt it.
We are talking about him defending his reputation and a large study but a simple long tweet supposedly pointing out once and for all why all the criticisms are wrong is too much effort for him?
*edited for missed word*
Yep, mainstream media stories shouldn’t be scientific essays or no average member of the public will ever read any of it. Having these stories planting the seed of doubt out in the British mainstream media is fantastic and a huge achievement. Well done to everyone who got this out there!
At the risk of raising Godwin’s law here I’m sure most vile people doing vile things have thought they were doing their job competently as they saw it.
Im honestly not sure where you’re reading that other people don’t want the same. No one is saying we should fling money at everyone left right and centre. Just that the omf isn’t the only game in town.
He has made plenty of those already. I’m suspicious of every group and researcher now personally. Hopefully one day someone will prove me wrong but until then I will be a suspicious bastard about everyone.
The point people were making (I believe) was not to put all our eggs in one omf shaped...
