Trial of CT38 for ME/CFS by Cortene Inc.: big claims being made...

I take it they are looking for overall decline or improvement in the tests as the treatment goes on. I know my test results would be significantly better if I was given something to improve my health compared to today.

Marathon runner forced to quit work after developing ME claims diet change gave him his life back

I agree with Melanie. I’ve tried all those diets and more with no benefits. What do people think of the Yorktest company tests? The intolerance tests I’ve seen before have been complete nonsense.

Michael Sharpe skewered by @JohntheJack on Twitter

I agree completely. All that matters to me is finding out what causes this disease and then developing a treatment.

ME/CFS or SEID is fine for me until we work out what’s actually going on. Arguing over it plays right into sharpes hands in my opinion. He’s already using it as an excuse.

Action for ME has joined S4ME

Would be nice if they could put science at the heart of the new research strategy.....

    He might be a member.

Life is too short to try and explain the way out of all his contradictions. It would take him years at this point.

He doesn’t seem to understand that he can’t have both shaped NICE guidelines and not had any effect at the same time. It’s a one or the other deal.

I imagine he’s going to just ignore this one on twitter. I can’t see how he could wriggle out of it. It’s a direct contradiction to multiple things he’s been saying.

Mirror: Tory minister demands comedian Ricky Gervais apologises for branding ME sufferers 'lazy' in offensive joke

It’s great he responded in an understanding way. I’m glad he didnt apologise too.

Mirror: Tory minister demands comedian Ricky Gervais apologises for branding ME sufferers 'lazy' in offensive joke

I personally felt it was irrelevant at the time too. I’m astonished it was brought up again after so long. Edited for a misplaced capital letter

Mirror: Tory minister demands comedian Ricky Gervais apologises for branding ME sufferers 'lazy' in offensive joke

This is why I groaned when I heard that the minister had asked him to apologise. Makes us all look bad by association.

I agree. Honestly I just don’t like memes full stop for anything but pure humour. Flat earthers, antivaxers and other conspiracy theorists all rely on them which says to me they are not the way to argue something seriously.

He seems really pissed off today. Someone should ask if he needs some CBT to change his negative attitudes.

This is very unfair. Esther isn’t denying it happens or how awful it is. Just that finding evidence that shows a link to PACE is difficult in those cases and that it’s easier to prove a direct link for some other things.

Opinion piece: If only Brexit had been run like Ireland’s referendum [not posted for the politics]

Just to play devils advocate here. The question for me is did the campaigning actually change the result much? The polls I’ve seen from the years before have shown a majority in favour of changing the law anyway. The percentage of support changes depending exactly how the question is phrased but...
