to add . . .
why do some of feel better after 6pm? I am able to stand and sit upright for much longer periods of time, and go out for a power walk when I'm feeling better. I'm unable to do this earlier in the day.
I live alone so I can control my mental and physical exertion, but when my sister visits for a couple of weeks is when I realize how disabled I am when interacting/speaking for too long. My equilibrium is totally off because I can't lie down or rest when I need to.
@It's M.E. Linda I can relate to what you are describing. I experienced this for many many years, but it has improved (for whatever reason) in the last 8 yrs. I am able to stand without shifting around as much, but I still can't concentrate or speak for very long while standing...
Case Report:
In conclusion, we describe a patient who showed tachycardia following mild TBI(traumatic brain injury). To our knowledge, this patient is the first reported case of tachycardia following mild TBI. Further studies involving a larger number of subjects showing signs of sympathetic...
There are studies that indicate that LDN is also a mixed bag for ppl with MS. Some benefit while others don't. Some have experienced insomnia and nightmares which was a side effect in my case.
That is interesting. My mental PEM comes on quickly after exertion, and resolves much quicker than physical PEM, which is always delayed by at least 14-16 hours and takes a minimum of 48hrs to get back to baseline.
What is your opinion on this?
The scientists showed that when oxygen is in short supply, a protein complex that Semenza called hypoxia-inducible factor, or HIF, builds up in nearly all the cells in the body. The rise in HIF has a number of effects but most notably ramps up the activity of a...
@Forbin outdoor temperature is a factor too. Cold weather folks walk a lot faster. When I used to travel to warmer countries I would pass everyone on the sidewalks. I needed a horn for people to get out of my way.
@Rosie haha it's tricky, isn't it? I place a bolster pillow under my knees to relieve pressure on my hips, and then lay my laptop on top of my legs so that it's at eye level. I then need 2 pillows behind my neck, a hard one and a softer one for under my neck. Then I roll a...
It eventually de-stiffens so I'm not sure surgery is necessary? It can last from 2 weeks to one month. I'm not sure why it only happens on my left hand when I'm right handed.
@Rosie I get 'trigger thumb' on my left hand from time to time. It's stiff and likes a hook/claw and sore. I'm also having an issue with my TMJ on my left side, it clicks when I eat. Very annoying. I think it's from having my head propped up when I'm on my laptop?
I have been making Dr. Paul Cheney's Home Brew for years to help with orthostatic intolerance:
1 cup filtered or spring water
1/8 teaspoon of Sea Salt
1/8 teaspoon of “No Salt” salt substitute (potassium).
Add lime juice or an herbal teabag as well as stevia for taste (or something to give it...
I saw this study on my Twitter feed the other day. I've been a fast walker my entire life, even with ME, so I tirer much quicker. If I walk slow I lose my balance.
