Identification of actin network proteins, talin-1 and filamin-A, in circulating extracellular vesicles as blood biomarkers...ME/CFS 2019, Eguchi et al

I'm not sure what you mean by 'early days', but there were outbreaks here near where I live and another Canadian city.

    What is fatigue?

@strategist yes I can distinguish the difference. With lack of stamina I feel out of breath, shaky, off balance, slurred speech and need to stop everything- can't do anymore. Fatigue I feel I need to lie down and rest, no distress and can recover within an hour. If I had some...

    What is fatigue?

There is the sudden loss of stamina when I go over my limit, and this vestibular dysfunction with OI distress that is amplified during PEM. It does not feel like fatigue in the general sense. I feel sick.

"The Harvard ME/CFS Collaboration’s investigators will evaluate ME/CFS patient’s blood samples that were extracted at three separate time-points: before exercise, at peak exercise, and one-hour after exercise. These studies will evaluate two separate blood compartments at these time points: the...

Open Cervicocranial dysfunction, neuroinflammation and infection in ME/CFS compared to healthy subjects, Bragée & Bertilson [MEPRO study]

Since weight is big factor in IHH, wouldn't that make a difference in upright and lying down MRI?

The science of craniocervical instability and other spinal issues and their possible connection with ME/CFS - discussion thread

I read a while back that fewer people are opting to sue doctors (in Canada), something like a little over than half are abandoned. How are patients able to afford attorney's to take on well-financed doctors?

The Effect of Curcumin in Patients with CFS/ME Disparate Responses in Different Disease Severities, 2019, van Campen & Visser

I used to drink organic matcha green tea because 'they' claimed it was a powerful antioxidant and had anti-inflammatory properties. Then I read a study that said we would have to drink 1/3 cup (of powder) daily in order to get any benefits. That's a lot of tea! A friend of mine whose adult...

The Effect of Curcumin in Patients with CFS/ME Disparate Responses in Different Disease Severities, 2019, van Campen & Visser

Didn't Jarred Younger complete a study looking into various botanicals that could target 'brain inflammation'? Curcumin was listed as one of them. I think they are going to publish it soon.

Agree. Describing major symptoms will get you a referral to a specialist much quicker.

Oxidative stress in exercise training: the involvement of inflammation and peripheral signals, 2019, Francesca et al

This is interesting. I'm not sure if it was already posted. Purpose: Oxidative stress has been proposed as a contributor to pain in patients with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/ CFS). During incremental exercise in patients with ME/CFS, oxidative stress enhances...

Oxidative stress in exercise training: the involvement of inflammation and peripheral signals, 2019, Francesca et al

What I meant was that low antioxidant levels might lead to oxidative damage to the mDNA if I continue exercising. I don't understand why I had the profile of someone who was malnourished when I following a healthy diet.

Oxidative stress in exercise training: the involvement of inflammation and peripheral signals, 2019, Francesca et al

Markers never detected inflammation in my case. So oxidative stress status was high (when tested), but no inflammation.

Livestream: Ron Davis to speak at Columbia University

My dear best friend passed away in 2016 from progressive M.E, he developed severe dysautonomia, severe gut issues, diabetes etc. His CNS was slowly shutting down over the course of 18 years, he never improved despite trying many treatments. I don't experience many of the symptoms...

Oxidative stress in exercise training: the involvement of inflammation and peripheral signals, 2019, Francesca et al

I had high oxidative stress on tests, the problem was that my antioxidant levels were very low/below normal.

I think using the term cure bothers me more than anything. There are many illnesses without a cure, managing specific symptoms with medications is a more realistic approach. As for prevention, pacing can prevent worsening (for some). Some of us have progressive M.E.

Abnormalities in the urine of people with ME/CFS? A clinician asks for feedback

@Snow Leopard I did a significant amount of exercise. I ran for 50 minutes 2 days before the test. I was still in PEM, muscle fatigue was quite bad but no pain.

PEM for those who are, or were, mild sufferers, how would you describe it?

My only experience with PEM has always been delayed. The instant unwellness from overdoing could be a form PEM, not sure, but I normally recover back to baseline within an hour or two.
