Leonard Jason research finds that many young people have ME/CFS (Simon M blog)

Was dysautomomia ruled out in the study? Dysautonomia (my bolding). Childhood dysautonomia conditions typically (but not always) strike adolescents, often after a period of very rapid growth. There is a female to male ratio of 5 to 1. Some patients report a sudden development of symptoms...

The Prevalence of Pediatric Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in a Community-Based Sample (2020) Jason et al.

How many physicians (cardiologists)/clinics in Canada can properly diagnose the several different variants of dysautonomia? POTS has been around for centuries and has only been well-defined in the last 25 years. This can markedly impair quality of life, especially because it is not widely...

3 day fasting to reset immune system

My mini fast is that I stop eating after 6pm, and don't eat until my breakfast at 7-8 am. As I get older I find that I sleep better if I don't eat after 6 pm.

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

My understanding from listening to infectious disease docs on tv is that masks are useless. Frequent hand washing and not touching your face is the best approach.

They need to abolish 'wet markets' because new viruses will emerge and there will be no turning back. International trafficking of wild animals needs to stop.

The science of craniocervical instability and other spinal issues and their possible connection with ME/CFS - discussion thread

    I can't say that I'm surprised that "ME/CFS/vEDS/CCI/AAI/MCAS/PLTS . . ." has turned into a designer or 'fashion' diagnosis.

    Research news from Bhupesh Prusty

How does one scan entire body parts to identify viruses? This sounds a bit bizarre.

The science of craniocervical instability and other spinal issues and their possible connection with ME/CFS - discussion thread

I'm very sorry to hear about Jenny and that she felt 'embarrassed' from the outcome. Why is that? This CCI social media roadshow being narrated by certain people with zero medical background on twitter is embarrassing, and totally inappropriate.

Pathogens associated with triggering ME/CFS - discussion thread

@Forbin I had a mild sore throat and ear for 6 months after the viral vertigo onset, but no strep throat at the time. It was the following 6-7 month period I developed strep throat and "extremely" elevated anti-thyroid antibodies. I was sent for a thyroid scan.

Pathogens associated with triggering ME/CFS - discussion thread

Many report "flu-like symptoms", but it's difficult to know if it was the flu. My symptoms were not flu-like. The virus attacked my thyroid. I don't know if I was tested for viruses so I can't say which one, but I was also heavily vaccinated during that time period.

Blogpost by Super Pooped (Hannah Radenkova): What no one tells you about being Housebound

I've caught myself several times talking to my sisters about events that happened to me (us) in the 80's and early 90's, and how their expression changed, it was like they weren't sure why I brought it up. They fly around the world and I haven't travelled since 1989.

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

Well the SARS outbreak here in 2003 was quite concerning too. I had a phlebotomy technician arrive at my place wearing a whole face covering mask and wore very thick gloves. She stood 4 feet away from my door asking if I had been exposed to anyone recently with potential SARS before...

Why do we crash so quick when upright/sitting?

Static ataxia is a big issue for me. I become a drunken sailor when I'm upright (sitting or standing) for over an hour. Truncal ataxia or disequilibrium is an unrecognised cause of orthostatic intolerance in patients with myalgic encephalomyelitis. "Most symptoms of OI have been surmised to...
