Prevalence and Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME and Co-morbid Severe Health Anxiety, 2019, Daniels et al

In the name of all that is holy..... This person is dumb. Really dumb. Frankly the ignorance seems proactive. Proactive ignorance. It's giving me a headache just thinking about how dumb someone can be. (Thank you for the link)

Prevalence and Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME and Co-morbid Severe Health Anxiety, 2019, Daniels et al

I genuinely believe that a combination of 1) questionable intellectual capacity and 2) self preserving incentivisation/cartel behaviour across the BACME BPS cabal means these people are not going to absorb the points you raise. We rightly cannot receive comment from within NICE deliberations...

Prevalence and Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME and Co-morbid Severe Health Anxiety, 2019, Daniels et al

Is there anyone else on the NICE committee who uses S4ME whom one should tag for such things?

United Kingdom: News from BACME - British Association of Clinicians in ME/CFS

Sorry, I was ambiguous. I meant that it is now increasingly possible (not definite or even clear how likely) that an insurer will rapidly pull back from pushing BPS rubbish or stop telling you to get exercise eventually. Some will still push you towards Vitality 360 or other quackery, or look...

"Vitality 360, we spin you right round, like a record player", until you're dizzy and throw up" :emoji_musical_score::emoji_musical_keyboard::emoji_microphone:

United Kingdom: News from BACME - British Association of Clinicians in ME/CFS

Hi there, vitality 360 are not part of the Pru, but contracted to them (unless the Pru did buy them, which I doubt for commercial reasons but haven't rechecked). Other insurers also contracted v360 too and some also mentioned them in their own press releases and marketing/comms to policy...

United Kingdom: News from BACME - British Association of Clinicians in ME/CFS

Apparently they have been dropped by some insurance companies that they had been contracted to. One can only assume that is both for commercial and legal reasons, due to both lack of efficacy and liability generation.

Updates on status of ICD-11 and changes to other classification and terminology systems

Amazingly fantabulous! Yet another testament to the power and relevance of individuals and communities, and their pivotal role of injecting evidence and insisting upon scientific rationale. Thank you.

Article in The Times (London) 10/12/2019 on microbiome (mentions 'CFS')

Intriguing, especially to see what remains post PRing once the dust settles.

A proposal for ME Action: a commitment to evidence-based medicine

This, so very much this, with some more of this on top. S4ME has a raison d'etre (my head hurts too much to find keyboard accents) Many thanks indeed for the direct reassurance. I also agree on all fronts, especially your statement about the wider role of this site, which I would...

A proposal for ME Action: a commitment to evidence-based medicine

I'm bailing out. I genuinely feel like I am losing a discussion that shouldn't even exist to be lost. I have been successfully distracted into submission... So I'll leave it at that. I am perturbed.

A proposal for ME Action: a commitment to evidence-based medicine

Definitely not. I'm not 'upset 'with the conversation - much more than people's feelings are at stake. You're making a comparison with people who are more emotionally attached to their opinion than reasoned evidence - a false equivalence. I'm worried about what is at stake and being undermined...

A proposal for ME Action: a commitment to evidence-based medicine

Agreed. But that's not the same as implying that there are no scientific principles, which is verging on what what many posts are implying. It's either happening by accident or on purpose, but it is happening. A scientific finding has a definable level/status of...

A proposal for ME Action: a commitment to evidence-based medicine

This thread is worrying me profoundly - even more than it was. I am trying very hard to word that 'appropriately'. I'm worried enough to use energy that I don't have for some days now, going round in circles to make the same point in a myriad of ways in the hope that one sticks. I see it as...
