New MEA Guide: ME/CFS The Ten Key Aspects of Management | 05 February 2020

...the topic at the subject of the FB pack behaviour extends into this thread. The topic. Not the pack behaviour per se! Badly written

New MEA Guide: ME/CFS The Ten Key Aspects of Management | 05 February 2020

Definitely. That word "gain" is wrong, even net arithmetically due to other debits that occur... The whole concept is dangerous are requires extreme care and caveating in the context of ME's history. Agreed - suggestions for improvement need to be made. I'd also add that these documents are...

New MEA Guide: ME/CFS The Ten Key Aspects of Management | 05 February 2020

With all the warmest sentiments and love in the world that I genuinely feel for you and your child's situation, I'm definitely not disputing what you wrote. Nor can I or should I tell you otherwise. Anyone's attempt to scrape some positive fact in their own situation doesn't give anything...

New MEA Guide: ME/CFS The Ten Key Aspects of Management | 05 February 2020

For what's its worth, I'm not even a member of the MEA, let alone any other reason to defend. But I cannot think of any other doctor globally who had had as much television or respun online video footage as CS on the topic of ME. Sure there are others in other online videos, but those are...

New MEA Guide: ME/CFS The Ten Key Aspects of Management | 05 February 2020

I think there are some very, very good points in this thread, which I hope the MEA address, but sometimes with a dose of hurtful feeling against the MEA that depends on there being MEA bad faith. I don't think that underlying tone is fair IMHO. I think demonising them doesn't engender anything...

Eysenck on Cancer blog by Tomasz Witkowski and Maciej Zatonsk Jan 31, 2020

Ah. I'd read it as him being the third most cited in relation to that specific topic of cancer and smoking, which would have been quite, even for him

British tennis player with 'chronic fatigue' wins 2020 Aus Open doubles

High performance tennis may be correlated to hypermobility, which of course we know has a relationship with ME (and a basket of other conditions). A world of overlapping Venns. One of Britain's leading paediatric rheumatologist specialising in hypermobility once explained to us that a number...

Do we have a source for that statement? It is extremely powerful. Sorry, if it's in the article, too much for me to read just now.

British tennis player with 'chronic fatigue' wins 2020 Aus Open doubles

Sounds like the real headline should be about the inadequacy, or lack of use, of the decent diagnostic criteria available for this illness in the medical profession. I do wish him well though and I'm he's glad pulling through whatever it is he has.

Thanks for setting the closed tab. First time posting in this part of the forum and I didn't notice it :)

Apparently it's been too successful(!), with 200+ responses and circa 100 for interview. Great problem to have! Many thanks all on their behalf

Low dose hydrocortisone as a treatment for ME/CFS

Did this type of research stratify subjects by symptoms? Any potential benefits, however mild or great, may depend on alleviating a specific symptom.

Gaslighting's evil twin siblings: Brandolini's Law of the Asymmetry of Bullshit and Gish Galloping

Agreed. On the supply side, I think that it is at least partially a symptom of increased competition. One can compete in many ways relative to employment objectives. I think that applies across the supply chain, from idea conception to distribution of the final article. Quality is just one of...

Yup, it was a very undemanding, easy breeze through. Not as heavy as many surveys :)

IMO the value of undergraduate research: Intrinsic research value where done well Seeding a future lack of ignorance, both academically and sociologically, within the undergraduate's networks Normalisation of such research full stop, percolating up through and across supervisors
