Andy Burnham was Secretary of State for Health when the government decided to impose a ban on blood donations by people diagnosed with ME or CFS, intitially until patients had "fully recovered", but a lifetime ban came into force on 1st November 2010 for anyone who'd ever had a diagnosis and...

Yes and what I was really pleased to learn was how supportive JC has been to constituents with ME and related issues, including research and receiving informational material from IiME Research, so it feels like a solid show of support of something he's been genuinely interested in.

    A UK Rituximab Trial?

Hi @Jenny TipsforME I agree with you and this is the problem of the early reveal of the null result, albeit quite rightly done for all the right reasons, but it does mean that until a close analysis of the data is done and the teams meet to discuss, we await with more questions than answers.

    A UK Rituximab Trial?

Following the news of the null result of the Norwegian Phase III trial, and interest in how this impacts the planned UK trial, I thought it might be useful to open a thread for this. The microsite for this UK rituximab trial and associated B-cell research is on Invest in ME Research Centre of...

What treatment trials for ME/CFS are currently ongoing?

Treatments are a goal of the gut research led by Simon Carding and Tom Wileman at Norwich Research Park (hub of the Invest in ME Research Centre of Excellence for ME). It wasn't on the agenda that I posted above but they've spoken publicly about the possibility of developing bacterial-based...

Phase III Rituximab Trial - News

I think this is just because they haven't had a chance to fully analyse the results yet, or to discuss with Jo Cambridge, who's been working on B-cells since 2014 at UCL aiming to see if it's possible to be able to identify a subset of likely responders to rituximab, and I guess they're...

Phase III Rituximab Trial - News

Sorry I haven't the brain power available just now to quote from the thread, but just to add my tuppence about PEM - you know how it is when you do a web search for one thing and happen across other interesting info? I was surprised to find info on rare diseases using the phrase 'exertion...

IiME conference 2018 starting to fill in agenda: J Corbyn (to be confirmed)

I'm amazed at the positive response to the card. I thought only about 30 people might see and sign it, but as people seem keen to share it more widely I've published a post today on the Let's Do It for ME blog with a little more background: http://ldifme.org/2017/11/23/thank-you-jeremy-corbyn/

Yes that's fine, I created it for anyone to sign as it's an international conference, but only as an easy way for people to express their thanks if they wished to, I honestly thought only about 30 people might want to sign it so I'm amazed at the response so far. Doing another glitch check now...
