The way he used to present himself in Private Eye, with the concerns he raised about how patients were treated by medical staff, makes his continued support for Esther Crawley (his boss), look totally ridiculous. Has he made any comment on Crawley's misrepresentation of the cover of the Sunday Times Magazine?
Interesting to read the reviews from his patients/their carers: starts with two rather incongruous statements: " Dr Philip Hammond I trained as a GP and worked as one for 20 years before retraining as an associate specialist in the young people's specialist Chronic Fatigue/ME service at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases NHS Fountation trust in Bath (the Mineral Hopsital). We work as a team of doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, support staff and managers under the leadership of Dr Esther Crawley." "I am a longstanding campaigner for compassion, safety and transparency in the NHS" https://www.iwantgreatcare.org/doctors/dr-philip-hammond all reviews(28) have 5 stars but go back to 2013 (only one for this year)(?)
Looks like Simon Wessely is getting into this lark also: Reasons to be cheerful with Ed Milliband and Geoff Lloyd "We took to the stage and took on the topic of mental health. With 1 in 4 people experiencing a mental health problem each year, there must be something we can do to support, and where possible treat, these millions. Ruby Wax, George Ezra, and Professor Sir Simon Wessely joined us at the Leicester Square Theatre to talk about their personal and professional experiences with mental health." SW starts around 37 minutes in: SW gets in a plug for his book. CBT should be more available/IAPT around 55mins. SW brings in the psychosocial way of treatment. Seems to be strengthening his position as Mental Illness saviour.
Ed Milliband and Geoff Lloyd were so bad that they made Wessely sound reasonable. What an embarrassment Britain is.
