    Now that's what's I'm talking about. Decades of failure have to be recognized for what they are and not only is there no good interpretation for what happened, no possible spin of a good faith effort, it's all worse in context and the more context you add the worse it is.

    Glad to see this outside of our small community bubble. The way medicine is dealing with this reminds me of every government in history that has gone to war for so long it doesn't even know what they're doing out there dying and killing but it's just too embarrassing to stop, and also too lucrative for some, so the death and suffering continues. None of this is normal and the tone will only grow closer to what reality demands of it. Physicians lied and sick people suffered and died needlessly, there must be accountability for it.

    Agreed! I was happy to see the blog post use strong terms like "institutional neglect."

    And this part was good - "skeptical providers who still construe these illnesses as psychogenic; insurance companies committed to denying disability benefits to the chronically ill; and, a Social Security disabilities benefits process that is difficult to navigate."
